Beauty Buys Of The Month #13

Friday, April 08, 2016

Hello ladies,
when I said in my latest post that March was a great month make-up wise, I wasn't just talking about my favourites, but also about new additions to my make-up collection.
For a few months now, I have been really good when it comes to not buying new make-up products, but this month I decided to treat myself a bit, use up a few coupons and see what our drgustores have to offer.
So far, I'm really pleased with everything that I've tried and I'm hoping a lot of these products will make it to my favourites (knocks on wood).

I also received quite a few lovely things from different brands (those are always marked with *) so let me share some first impressions and the reasons behind my purchases with all of you.

DM came through with their coupons once again and I'm not going to lie, I had a really hard time resisting the temptation to use up the majority of them just for the sake of it. But I managed to use them somewhat reasonably and only get the things that I needed/really wanted to try out.
I'm almost out of my current Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream in 31 Ivory, so I thought that having a coupon for it was the perfect opportunity to snatch up a new one since I really can't see myself being without it. When I was getting it, I couldn't stop thinking about the matching CC Eye Cream concealer, so I just grabbed it. It's been awhile since I use up my first one and although I definitely don't lack in the concealer department, I really wanted one that's perfect for no make-up make-up days, and this one definitely is. I have a review on both of them, if you want to check it out - here.
Almost every time I visit DM, I spend some time by the Max Factor lipsticks. I only had one that I really like and wanted more, but all of the other shades that I liked in the store seemed to have a lot of shimmers in them, so I always skipped buying them. I really don't know how I didn't notice 833 Rosewood before, cause it's right up my alley. I'm not really sure how to describe it the best - it's a darker, warm brownish mauve shade, I guess. Otherwise it's nicely pigmented, very creamy and has a semi glossy finish. I also really like the scent of it.
If you follow me on Instagram (@sanja_o), you already saw this Kiss Gel Strong nail polish in Dorothy. I was intrigued by the claim that they last up to 14 days without using a UV/led lamp, so of course I had to grab one. So far, it doesn't really seem that this is going to be true, cause I can already see some chipping at the very tip of my nails, although I was working and I tend to chip every nail polish there. It has a thicker consistency, it's very opaque (I applied one thicker coat), dries quickly, looks very glossy (I didn't use any top coat to really test it out) and has a nice flat & semi-wide brush.
I also repurchased one of my favourite mascaras, the Maybelline Lash Sensational lash multiplying mascara, this time the Intense black version. I'm hoping it will be as great as the regular one.
There has been so much talk about the L'Oreal Infallible 24h-matte foundation, but I really wasn't planning on purchasing it cause I'm a ride & die fan of my CC creams. But it was 30% off with a coupon so I decided to get it and so far I'm really liking it. I got the shade 11 Vanilla which looks terrifyingly dark swatched at the back of my hand, but somehow blends into my face really nicely. Although this claim to have high coverage, I haven't build it up to that yet, and this claim was right what was putting me off buying it. I'm not a fan of thick, high coverage foundations cause I feel like I'm wearing a mask, but I'm so glad to report that when you use a really small amount of it, you can achieve a very natural, light to medium coverage, which is exactly what I like. Mateja mentioned that this hides pores like nobody's business and I definitely have to agree with her - it's amazing at that!
I also noticed that it's really good at mattifiying the face (although I still use a setting powder with it) and that it's very long-lasting, I haven't experienced any fading throughout the day. So far it looks like this just might be featured in my favourites soon.

The lovely Dominur team surprised me with some Essence & Catrice new releases (below) which sparked my curiosity for the rest of their new products, so I picked up a few of them. I'm planning on doing a separate post of all these Essence & Catrice goodies, filled with reviews and swatches, when I test out all of them, so I'm not going to talk about them here. I'll just tell you what I bought and got.
First up from Catrice I bought their Eyebrow Filler perfecting & shaping gel in 020, Liquid Camouflage high coverage concealer in 010 Porcelain, Illuminating blush in 040 La Vie En Rose, Stylo Eyeshadow pen in 030 Copper and Paste and their Prime and fine eyeshadow base in 010.
And now onto Essence: two of their The gel nail polishes in 56 You and me? & 67 Love me like you do, Mosaic blush in 40 The Berry Connection, The Velvets eyeshadow in 05 Taupe secret, Eyeshadow in 20 Rosy happiness, Glossy stick lip colour in 03 Luminous Rosewood (I seem to have a thing for products named 'rosewood', also I'm obsessed with it already), Brush cleansing spray, 2 in 1 eye shadow & liner waterpoof in 06 She's got the mauve and 2 in 1 lash & brow comb.

The products that were sent to me and that sparked the splurge from above were Catrice Re-touch healthy look concealer in 003 Beige Rose* & Sand Nudes eyeshadow palette in 010 Hug S' and Kisses* and Essence The Velvets eyeshadow in 03 Smooth caramel* & The Gel nail polish in 61 1001 Party nights*.
I only managed to try out The Velvets eyeshadow* and you can suspect that I really like it since I bought another shade, but I have to point out how excited I was when I saw that the shade selection of all of the products is right up alley.
They also included a list of all the new releases and I may or may not have marked all the products that I still want to buy (don't judge).

In my February Sparkles & Let-downs I mentioned how I was planning on trying out some other scents from CD and the next day I was contacted by a lovely girl working there called Nina. I'm not going to lie, it warms my heart every time someone reaches out to me because they saw something I talked about on here. They offered me to choose another scent that I would like to try and also offered me some for a giveaway, but I was blown away once more, when they offered me to sent all of these products above. Fair to say there are going to be a few giveaways in the near future.
I got their Limona tuš gel* & Deo pump sprej* (Lemon shower gel & deo pump spray), Granatno jabolko tuš gel*, deo pump sprej* & deo roll-on* (Pomegranate shower gel, deo pump spray & deo roll-on) and their newest Happy duo Orange blossom deo pump sprej* & deo roll-on* (Happy duo Orange blossom deo pump spray & deo roll-on).

L'Occitane, Oriflame and Avon made sure that Slovenian bloggers had a really special International women's day and treated us a bit. You can see the gorgeous notebooks that we got from L'Occitane on my Instagram (shameless second plug), Oriflame gifted us with their Bright Bouquet shower cream* and Avon with their Care Pink jasmine hand, nail & cuticle cream*, True Colour Matte eyeshadow quad in Au Naturele*, Big & Multiplied volume mascara* and Naturals body care Sultry red rose & peach shower gel*, which is not photographed here cause I already used it up and will talk about it in my empties.
I'm currently using the Oriflame Bright Bouquet shower cream* and I really like it. It smells really fresh and the floral scent is not overpowering which is great, and I also find it to be quite moisturising.
If you saw my latest post, you already know how much I love the Avon True Colour Matte eyeshadow quad in Au Naturele* (there you can also see the swatches), but I haven't tried the hand cream or the mascara yet.

Here are a few swatches:

1: Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream in 31 Ivory
2: Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Eye Cream in 21 Ivory
3: Max Factor in 833 Rosewood
4: L'Oreal Infallible 24h-matte foundation in 11 Vanilla
5: Essence Glossy stick lip colour in 03 Luminous Rosewood
6: Kiss Gel Strong nail polish in Dorothy

*The products marked with * was given to me. I didn't buy them with my money. But that didn't and won't ever affect my opinion about the products in any way. The review is based on my personal experience with the product.*

56 You and me? in 67 Love me like you do sem imela tudi jaz na seznamu, pa jih je pri nas takoj zmanjkalo :/

    1. Prišli so z njihovo reklamo, cel kup...So pa bili do 31. 3.

Why am I not suprised?! Se veselim ocen Essence in Catrice izdelkov. Sploh Catrice Stylo senčilo. Sem si ravno ta odtenek nagledovala :D
