Empties #16

Wednesday, January 13, 2016

let me just tell you that before you start reading this, make yourself a sandwich because I used up A LOT of products.

This was one of the post that was supposed to go up in December, since my empties box has been overflowing for awhile now, but of course things didn't go as planned and now I seriously can't wait to get rid of these products.

 1. Dove Advanced Hair Series Pure Pflege Sxhwerlosaes Öl shampoo (Pure care dry oil shampoo): This was a very moisturising shampoo, so much so, that I couldn't use it every time I washed my hair cause it created too much build-up and weighted down my hair. If I remember correctly, it was also very liquidy.
Would I repurchase? No.

2. Avon Advanced Techniques Absolute Perfection BB Shampoo, Conditioner & Treatment mask*: I won't talk much about this line, cause I did a whole review on it (here) and I didn't really change my mind about anything. The shampoo was average, the conditioner was nice, but I had better and the treatment mask was the outstanding product for me, I really loved it a lot.
Would I repurchase? Only the treatment mask.

3. Schauma Cotton Fresh dry shampoo: I talked about this loads, it's the second best dry shampoo for me.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

4. VO5 Give me texture Dry texturising spray: Now this was an interesting one. I heard a lot of great things about it, but it didn't do anything for me. I do think it was because the spray thingy was damaged on the side and it dispensed product from two holes instead of just on. But I loved the perfume scent that lasted for quite some time in my hair.
Would I repurchase? Strangely yes, cause I want to give it another chance.

5. Subrina Spicy Orange & Strawberry Sorbet shower gels: This was my first time using Subrina shower gels and they are actually really nice: creamy, non-drying, with strong scents. I wasn't a fan of the Strawberry Sorbet one cause it was too sweet for me, but the Spicy Orange one smells heavenly.
Would I repurchase? Yes, the Spicy Orange one.

6. Ziaja Cocoa Butter creamy shower soap: is one of my all-time favourites, but I don't buy it very often. I love the smell of it and I find it to be very moisturising.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

7. Le Petit Marseiliais Lait d'Amande Douce: was another new product for me. And it was a big hit. I love the scent so much that I'm actually smelling it as I'm writing this. It's also very creamy and moisturising.
Would I repurchase? Definitely.

 8. Afrodita Mystic Argan & Acai Berries with vitamin C oil shower gels: are both freaking amazing. The Acai Berries one is probably my all-time favourite shower gel due to its zesty & refreshing scent (I really wish it came in a bigger size), but the Mystic Argan one was really nice as well.
Would I repurchase? Yes, both of them.

9. Yves Rocher Vanille CollectOR shimmering shower gel*: was a part of their 2014 Christmas LE and I finally used up this travel-sized one. It's smells like vanilla, but other than that it wasn't anything special.
Would I repurchase? No.

10. Yves Rocher Monoi de Tahiti dry body oil: is a product I'll forever be repurchasing in the Summer. It not only smells amazing, does a great job at moisturising your skin, but it also makes your tanned skin (especially legs) look amazing!
Would I repurchase? Most definitely yes.

11. Yummy Vanilla body butter*: We got this products at the Beautiful Bloggers Meet Up and it was my first time trying anything from this brand. I loved the smell of it and the semi-thick consistency, but it wasn't the best moisturiser I've ever used. If you don't have extremely dry skin and you'll use it daily, it will be enough, otherwise probably not.
Would I repurchase? Not really.

12. Aldo Vandini Pure Hydro Handbalsam: I already mentioned a couple of times that I love these hands creams. This was also my favourite scent and I still can't decide if I should buy the matching perfume or not.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

 13. Dvorec Trebnik Energy Tonic face & body mist*: This isn't empty, but I'm parting ways with it anyway. This made my skin burn, it irritated it like crazy, dried it up and made it extremely red. I have to say that I was quite disappointed since it claims to be refreshing, moisturising and soothing.
Would I repurchase? No.

14. Krasna Osvežilni tonik sivka in čajevec (Lavender & tea-tree refreshing toner): I was surprised at how much I liked this one (I talked about it here). It definitely helps to balance things out and prevent breakouts.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

15. Burt's Bees Peach & Willow Bark deep pore scrub: is another extremely, extremely disappointing product. I was so angry at myself for buying this that I really struggled to use it up. There's no way that this is a face scrub: it has these giant exfoliating beads that were extremely rough on my skin, yet didn't really provide a deep scrub since they go everywhere except on the places you want them to. They stick to your hands, they get lost in-between your fingers, there's no way you'll get them around your nose for example. It also leaves a weird, waxy feeling on your face afterwards and I hated the smell. It sucks as a body scrub as well.
Would I repurchase? Never!

16. Biore 6 Ultra deep cleansing pore strips: I'm so sad that I used up all of them (need to place a Boots order asap). These are the best pore strips that I've tried so far, they really do get everything out.
Would I repurchase? Of course.

17. La Roche Posay Hydreane Legere Moisturising cream for sensitive skin: This is a really nice, lightweight, moisturising cream. I love using it, especially in the colder months and on days when I'm not wearing make-up. It was a life saver when I was sick a few months ago, and I'm really happy that I now have the Hydreane Riche version in my stash (I'll probably use that one as a night-time moisturiser).
Would I repurchase? Yes.

18. Le Petit Olivier Lip balm stick with anti-aging Argan oil: You know the drill with this one - my favourite lip balm ever. My tip: buy it in bulk when it's on offer.
Would I repurchase? Already did.

19. Afrodita Karotin regenerativna krema anti-age care (Carotene regenerative cream): This has carrot oil and shea butter in it, and it reminded me of that BebiVal cream for babies that my mum used to use on my & my sister. It has the same thick consistency and slightly orangey tint.
It was really nice, nourishing and moisturising, but I didn't see any improvements as far as fine lines or elasticity of skin go.
Would I repurchase? Maybe.

 20. Ombia Dip & Twist nail polish remover: This is one of those sponge nail polish removers and I actually really liked it. I tried the Bourjois one before, and another one I can't really think of atm, and I didn't like either of them, but this Ombia one didn't dry out my nails, did a great job at removing nail polish, the sponge lasted for a really long time and it smelled nice.
Would I repurchase? Yes, but I'm not sure if it's still available.

21. Kiss Diamond Hard strengthen & grow base coat: This was ok, but definitely not anything special. The Essence one is much better and much cheaper.
Would I repurchase? No.

22. Catrice Prime and fine mattifying powder: I'm not sure what I'll do if Catrice ever decides to discontinue this. It's my favourite setting powder and I go through them like they're going out of style.
Would I repurchase? Already did.

23. Essence Silky touch blush in 10 Adorable: was one of my oldest blushes in my stash (if not the oldest) and I finally used it up. It's a nice, everyday pink shades, that's not crazily pigmented, yet still enough for a nice flush of colour.
Would I repurchase? I would, but I'm not sure if I actually will.

24. Essence Eyeshadow in 22 Blockbuster: is another not empty product. But the lid broke off and the shadow itself got quite hard and powdery. I did actually repurchase this one in the past, but now I'm over it.
Would I repurchase? Not really.

25. Ingrid Cosmetics Satin touch mineral blush in 1*: I don't know what I was doing when I dropped it, but I managed to completely shatter it and my heart along with it. I absolutely loved this blush: the colour was amazing, the pigmentation was great and so was the longevity. Here's the review.
Would I repurchase? It's on top of my to-do list.

26. ArtDeco Eye brow pencil in 6: Another all-time favourite that I abuse on a daily basis.
Would I repurchase? I always have a back-up.

27. Labello Coconut lip butter: is my favourite of the bunch. I find it to be the most moisturising and it smells heavenly. It's an essential on my desk.
Would I repurchase? I already have a back-up.

 28. Rexona Maximum Protection antiperspirant: has been my go-to deodorant for a really long time now and it's probably one of the best ones out there. But I did notice that it stopped working just as great recently, so I switched back to Borotalco and CD for now.
Would I repurchase? Yes, in a few months time.

29. Vera Wang Princess: is one of my favourite perfumes and definitely the cutest one. I absolutely love the scent of it and it's extremely strong & long wearing on me. I used to use it only on ''special occasions'', but once I got a back-up bottle, I finally decided to use it up. You can read the notes of it here.
Would I repurchase? Already did.

30. Calvin Klein Euphoria: I mentioned how I have a love-hate relationship with this one. I think this is my third bottle and the same thing always happens: I buy it, I love it, I get bored of it, I stop using it, I force myself to use it up and I start to love it again when it's on its last leg. This one was eau de toilette, which as far as I can remember smells a bit different to eau de perfume. Notes.
Would I repurchase? I really don't know.

31. Amour 72 (replica Armani Code): I kinda bashed this one when I first mentioned it, and I did changed my mind a bit when I started using it more often. I still think that Refan ones are better in terms of longevity, but this one wasn't all that bad either. For me, this was a nice way to wear ''Armani Code'' every day, cause I'm sure not wasting that one on a daily basis.
Would I repurchase? Probably not.

32. Avon Nutra effects active seed complex Balance daily cream: I'm not sure what to say about this really. Awhile back I started testing it out, cause I've heard a lot of great things about it and I also changed up my night-time moisturiser to Melvita's Pulpe de Rose plumping radiance cream and one of them broke me out like crazy. I'm still not sure which one it was, cause I'm too scared to try either of them again, but I know I'll have to do it at some point. But it did do a great job at keeping the oils at bay.
Would I repurchase? I don't know.

33. Montagne Jeunesse Touchmaske Totes Meer (Deep Sea Face Spa mask): I really liked this one, it did a great job at soothing and moisturising my skin, which is usually not something I look for in a face mask, but it was a nice change.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

34. Urban Decay Sin eyeshadow primer potion: This was awful, I couldn't actually use it up completely. And you know it's bad when I say something shimmery is awful. This is so shimmery that it actually ruins your eyeshadows and your whole eye make-up cause it gets everywhere. The shade itself is also quite dark, champagne like, which is weird when your skin is so fair and if you're trying to use a very light eyeshadow.
Would I repurchase? Hell no!

35. Alessandro Pedix Feet Heel rescue balm nourishing heel smoother & Go Easy moisturising foot balm, Hand! Spa Age Complex Micro Peel deep cleansing hand gel & Cream Rich regenerating hand cream and Nice Day deep moisturising hand lotion: I decided to combine these samples because they were all a part of the Alessandro Christmas Calendar and because I really liked all of them. You can read my first impressions on them here.
Would I repurchase? I would buy the full size of  Hand! Spa Nice Day deep moisturising hand lotion, Pedix Feet Go Easy moisturising foot balm and potentially also the Hand! Spa Age Complex Micro Peel deep cleansing hand gel although I don't really think you need a deep cleansing gel especially for your hands.

I also decided to include candles and waxes since I use up a lot of them and don't really talk about them very often.

36. Primark Sweet Vanilla & Coconut scented candle: I love the packaging of it, the fact that it's three-wicked and how it smelled in the packaging, but that's all. It didn't really dispense any scent while it was actually burning, except a hint of this weird, plastic wax one. It was a struggle to use it up completely.
Would I repurchase? No.

37. Heart & Home 'tis the seasons wax melts in Waiting for Santa, Winter Berries & Christmas Cupcake: I bought these ones in Spar and they were actually descent. The scents aren't anything revolutionary, Yankee Candle definitely have similar one, but they do last for quite a few ''burning sessions'', although I did have to melt the entire wax at once to get a strong scent (which I usually don't do with YC).
Would I repurchase? Maybe.

38. Yankee Candle Maroccan Argan Oil, Garden Sweet Pea, Cranberry Pear and Red Raspberry: All of these scents were nice (although I was expecting the Maroccan Argan Oil to be stronger), but the Cranberry Pear and Red Raspberry were definitely my favourite ones.
Would I repurchase? I already repurchased the Cranberry Pear and I would definitely repurchase the Red Raspberry as well.

39. Village Candle Hard Cider: This was my first time trying out anything from Village Candle, but I really like them. They are very similar to Yankee Candle as far the packaging and prices go, but they do have some very interesting scent (I also picked up the scent Celebration). I really liked Hard Cider, it has a hint of apples with a tiny bit of something alcoholic. It's has just the right amount of sweetness & sourness to it. They also burn really nicely and give out a nice, strong scent.
Would I repurchase? Definitely. I really regret not picking up more scents.

Kudos to you for making it to the end and thanks for reading ♥

What have you used up recently?

  1. še kr nisem probala tega Schauma suhega šampona joj :D ! Res morem ponj

:D meni take stvari ne uspevajo preveč.

Thanks a lot. :P

  7. So many empties! I also have that Dove shampoo and I love it :D
    Great post, girl!

    1. Well nice to know it's working for you :)
      Thanks xx

  8. Obožujem Subrina šampone, res so the best in vonji so res perfekcija. Ampak živa žalost je, ker dobim alergijo nanje :( .. Ogrooomno izdelkov si izpraznila, bo prostora za nove :)

    1. Ojoj, to je pa res škoda :/ Jaz na srečo nisem imela nobenih težav z njimi.
