Beauty Buys Of The Month #12

Sunday, January 24, 2016

Hello ladies,
how was your Sunday?
I had a blast; finally took some time off, stayed in my PJ's & watched Youtube videos and in the afternoon we had a birthday party because my cousin's son turned 4.
Now I finally took the time to finish writing this new post that was supposed to go up on Friday.

Beauty Buys Of The Month

I wasn't buying much recently because I already have way too much products that are still waiting to be used, and because I also don't really want to grow my collection any bigger at the moment. But of course I had to pick up a few things here and there, and I also got sent quite a lot of things that I wanted to share with you.

Beauty Buys Of The Month
When Petra from Adjusting Beauty mentioned these Metallic Face Brushes from Ebay (here's her review), a lot of Slovenian bloggers went nuts from them. Of course I was one of them and I ordered the Loose Powder Brush, Eye shadow Brush and the Facial Power Brush (from this seller). And to be honest, I really didn't expect to like them as much as I do. Judging by the photos from Petra, my Loose Powder Brush looks a bit bigger & fluffier and because my skin is on the oily side, I don't actually use it for my setting powder as I feel like it adds a very light / airy layer of powder which isn't enough for me (but all of you with normal to dry skin would probably love it for that). But I do use it with bronzer and boy o boy, is this an amazing bronzer brush. When I started using the Real Techniques Blush Brush with bronzer I taught that was the perfect match, but let me tell you that I didn't even look at that brush since I started using this one. This applies the bronzer so beautifully, just the right amount, it doesn't look cakey or muddy at all. It really helps you achieve that sun-kissed look with minimal effort.
The Facial Powder Brush is in my opinion perfect for applying highlighter or setting my under eye concealer, and the Eye shadow brush works great with cream eyeshadows or for packing on a shadow all over your lid. I was expecting this brush to be a bit smaller, so that I would be able to use it for blending, but it's definitely too wide for that. My friend ordered a whole set, so I'm waiting to see if I need the rest of the brushes as well, although I have a feeling I'll end up getting them any way because they're so cheap and so soft.
Speaking about cream eyeshadows, I finally found the Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo Creamy Mattes in 91 Creme De Rose and I've been abusing it the whole month. It's just the perfect 'one swipe-out of the door' shade that adds something to your face, but doesn't look too out there.
At the Beautiful Blogger Meet Up we got a sample sized Lancome La vie est belle perfume and I tried my hardest not to like it, I really did, but as you can see by the giant 50ml bottle, I failed miserably. I'll talk more about it soon, but you can read the notes here.

Oriflame Giordani Gold
Now onto the things I got and this first package was from the lovely Oriflame team. They asked me what I would like to try and I opted for the Giordani Gold Luminous Cream Eye Shadow in Gold Sparkle which is a lovely sparkling gold shade, as the name would suggest. I only swatched it, but it looks like my kind of shade and it even comes with a tiny brush.
The second thing that I got was also from the Giordani Gold line and it's their Jewel Lipstick in Dusky Nude. I already own one shade from this lipstick range and I really like, not only it's the packaging absolutely divine, but the lipstick itself it really creamy, pigmented, glides on like a dream and feels very moisturising & comfortable to wear. Dusky Nude looks like the perfect, everyday, peachy nude shade and I can't wait to try it out.

BE Creative Make Up, The Body Shop
My sweet Astrid from Truth About Comestics once again surprised me with a Christmas package that included a BE Creative Make Up Eyeshadow in 024 Bewitched, a shimmery peachy golden shade, The Body Shop Frosted Plum Hand Cream, which smells amazing and it's quite nourishing, and a lovely card that I already saved in my 'memory box'.
This is why I love blogging so much, because it allows you to meet the friendliest people who share the same interests as you do, even if they are miles away. You should definitely check her out, she's amazing ♥

Eucerin AQUAporin Active
I also got the Eucerin AQUAporin Active cream for normal to mixed skin. I haven't tried it yet, cause I'm currently using some other face creams that I want to use up first, but after reading Ana's (Beautysaur) thoughts about it on her Facebook page, I really look forward to trying it.
Will definitely mention it on here once I fully test it out.

Dvorec Trebnik
I also got an amazing Christmas present from Dvorec Trebnik that not only included some of their goodies, but also a book, which I'm itching to read (here).
I'm kinda ashamed to admit that I haven't tried much from Dvorec Trebnik since this they're my home town brand, but they're definitely on my radar for 2016.
The goodies that they included in their package are their Vanilla Massage Oil, Juicy Orange Shower Gel and Argan Ointment. I only tried the Vanilla Massage Oil which smells heavenly and moisturises the skin amazingly, but my mum also tried the Argan Ointment around her dry & cracked nose when she was sick and it helped her heal it overnight. She was very impressed, let me tell you.
I'll for sure be doing a review on these products, so stay tuned for that.

Avon Care Cocoa Butter Line
The Avon team has also been super generous with their packages and very sneaky, cause they always completely surprise us. This time I got their new Avon Care Cocoa Butter line, which includes the Cococa Butter Body lotion, Rich cream for face, hand & body, Lip butter and Hand, nail & cuticle cream.
So far I can tell you that all of them smell amazing, that the Hand, nail & cuticle cream is a lightweight cream that sinks into the skin fairly quickly, leaving them soft & moisturised and that the Lip butter is a heavy-duty, thick lip balm/butter that works great with dry or chapped lips, but definitely has a completely wrong packaging.
I'm also planning on posting a detailed review on these products at some point.
