Make-Up Collection & Graveyard: Eyes & Brows

Tuesday, November 24, 2015

Hello ladies,
I took a short break from blogging this weekend cause I really wasn't in the mood for it, but today I'm back with the second part in my make-up collection & graveyard series.
This one is going to be all about eyes and brows, so everything from eyeshadow, mascaras, brow pencils to brow gels.
If you're interested in reading my disclaimer about this series, you can read it here.

Before I get into this post, I want to say some general things about eyeshadows so that I won't repeat myself throughout it. I like my eyeshadows to be pigmented, smooth, easy to blend and have as little fall out as possible. As you will see, I'm also not a fan of colour.

So the first eyeshadow palettes I'm obviously keeping since they're my all time favourite ones are the Urban Decay Naked's.
I own almost all of them, I use all of them, I love all of them and I definitely think all of them are worth buying.
The original Naked palette is the first one that I bought, and is in my opinion the most versatile and the one that I would encourage everyone to get. I just feel like you can't go wrong with it. I just recently mentioned it here.
The Naked 3 was love at first sight. I'm a sucker for rosy tones and this one is probably the most girly eyeshadow palette ever. I love wearing it day to day, but it also has some darker shades that can easily smoke out your night-time look. Here are my first impressions.
The Naked 2 was a palette that I did have to get use to and it didn't wow me instantly, but the more I used it, the more I fell in love with it. It's more cooled toned as the Naked one, but it still has some absolutely stunning shades.
Now if you're more of a matte eyeshadow kinda gal, the Urban Decay Naked Basics and the Naked 2 Basics are for you. And yes, I definitely think you ''need'' both. These are one of the best matte eyeshadows out there and the shade selection is pure perfection for neutral lovers like me. They're also my go-to palettes for travelling, I always bring one of them, since they are so compact. I've talked about them here and here.

The next two palettes that I decided to keep are the Bh Cosmetics Jenni Rivera 36 color eyeshadow & blush palette (mentioned here) and the Sleek Vintage Romance (review). Both stunning and great quality.
The last one is a Z palette that I made myself. On far left it has a bronzer, blusher and setting powder from Deborah Milano make-up set (I unfortunately can't remember how it was called), next to that are six of E.L.F. Custom Eyes eyeshadows in Moondust, Wheat, Pink Ice, Aubergine, Driftwood and Mocha (two of them are mentioned here), after that we have a liner from the Bourjois Intense smoky liner & eyeshadow in 32 Violet constelle (mentioned here) and lastly two MAC eyeshadows in Omega and Woodwinked.

When it comes to Makeup Revolution, I ♥ Makeup and Freedom there are some hits and misses. Because of that I decided to keep the Makeup Revolution Flawless Matte eyeshadow palette (review) and the Iconic Pro 1 (review). I also decided to keep the I ♥ Makeup Naked Chocolate* and Freedom Pro 12 Stunning Smokes*. Review on the two is coming soon.

From the smaller palettes I kept the Avon Mocha latte (mentioned here) which I've been loving for years, Deborah Milano Secrets of the smokey eye in 2 Nude beige (here), Manhattan Eyemazing effect eyeshadow in Brownie Break (here), my favourite drugstore quad, and Estée Lauder Pure Color EyeShadow Duo in Raisins (12) (review).

I decided to part ways with the Catrice Absolute Nude eyeshadow palette in 010 All Nude cause the middle shade completely shattered, but I'll be repurchasing it, with the MUA Heaven & Earth palette, cause I just wasn't using it (review) and the MeMeMe Eye Inspire Baked Eyeshadow in Fire Eyes*, cause I only really used the purple & orange shade (review).

I also decided to give away the Makeup Revolution Salvation Palette in Welcome to the Pleasuredome* (review), although I did depot three shades (Jungle call, Moving at million miles an hour & Sell it by the hour) - these are the second, third and fourth shade in the second row from left to right.
I also gave away the W7 Paintbox 77 eye shadow colours palette that I had for a really long time. Ever since the lid broke, I didn't really use it, but it does have a kick-ass colour selection, so I gave it to my sister since this means I can always get it back.

And now onto the single eyeshadows.
I obviously kept all of the Essence I ♥ Nude eyeshadows. I have two shades: 03 Crème Brulee, 05 My favourite tauping. I also have two from their TE Cookies & Cream which have the same formula - 03 Last night a cookie saved my life and 01 So hot, donut! Then I have one matt effects eyeshadow in Blockbuster which is actually my second one, and their TE Love & Sound eyeshadow in 01 Glastonberry.
Next up are the IQ Cosmetics in Old Rose (here) and the L'Oreal Color Riche L'ombre Pure Matte shadow in Breaking Nude (here). I also have two more MAC eyeshadows - Mythology and Phloof! (my favourite highlight shade), and two ARTDECO eyeshadows - 538 and 214 (here and here).
The last four eyeshadows from the bunch are Catrice Absolute Eye Colour in 750 New in Brown & 400 My First Copperware Party (here), Manhattan Mat Effect eyeshadow in 101 On Mat Black, which I use as a liner and Yves Rocher Duo Eyeshadow in 22 Menthe Et Ecorce (here).

Some more cream eyeshadows, pigments, etc.
First up are KIKO Water Eyeshadows in 203 and 200 (mentioned here), right under are the L'oreal Color Infallible in 021 Sahara Treasure and 033 Tender Caramel (here). All great quality and I definitely need some more shades.
After that we have some cream products: MeMeMe Dew Pots in Willow Whisper* (review), Max Factor Excess Shimmer in 20 Copper and two Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeshadow sticks in 003 Bad girl bronze and 002 Bulletproof beige (first impressions).
Then I have some loose pigments: Illamasqua Pure Pigment in Furore, Yves Rocher 100% Natural origin loose pearls in 03 Nacres dorees* (see here) and NYX Ultra Pearl Mania in 20 Mocha Pearl (review). I only use these loose pigments at ''special'' occasions since they're quite a hassle to work with, but they do look pretty.
I also have three Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo's - 70 Metallic Pomegranate, 40 Permanent Taupe & 35 On and on Bronze, and a few more cream eyeshadows: Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeshadow paint in 006 Rich Russet (here), KIKO Long lasting stick eyeshadow in 05 Rosy Brown (see the previous link) and GOSH Mineral Waterproof eye shadow in 003 Brown (here).

And now onto the shades that I decided to give away.
Yves Rocher Couleurs Nature (unfortunately I didn't write down the shade before giving it away), Essence TE Bloom me up in 01 Bloomylicious, Avon 'loose eyeshadow tingy' (again, can't remember what it was called or what the shade was as the writing was completely rubbed off),  Essence TE Metal Glam in 04 Golden eye, S-he Stylezone eyeshadow in 001 (I think) and the Essence eyeshadow, I once again don't remember the name of, but it was free with a hair tie.

Now we have mascaras, eye pencils and eye liners.
I'm keeping the Essence TE Hello Autumn eye pencil in Leaves are the new beef and TE Love Letters in 02 Grey-headed lovebird - both very creamy, pigmented and long-lasting.
I had two mascaras at this point (I now have a few more, will talk about them soon) - the Maybelline Lash Senstational which I absolutely adore and the Catrice Glamour Doll volume mascara.
And then we have a bunch of eye liners: Essence TE Beach Cruisers waterproof liquid eyeliner in 01 Sun, fun & copper, Freedom Pro Eyeliner in Waterproof Black*, Max Factor Kohl pencil in 090 Natural glaze (favourite one for my inner rim), Essence TE Bloom me up duo eyepencil in 01 Bloomylicious, Ultraflesh Secret Shimmer & Nude Shimmer from their Shinebox* (review), Lord & Berry Silk kajal kohl-liner in 1001 Black, Essence TE Happy girls are pretty ultra slim eye pencil in 02 The choco side of life (absolutely amazing!) and the Essence Eyeliner pen waterproof in 01.

I decided to part ways with the S-he stylezone eye pencil (again, don't know the name, it was the blue one, but I didn't like the shade ), The Vintage Cosmetics Company Nancy lashes, Essence Liquid Eyeliner in black, and the pointless Essence Say no to dark circles correcting concealer in 30 Bright rose (mentioned here)

Lastly, we have some brow products.
I only threw away the E.L.F. Eyebrow kit and kept the rest. My all time favourite eyebrow pencil is the ARTDECO Eye brow pencil in 06, and I always buy a back up when my previous one gets really small. It's pigmented, long-wearing, easy to work with, soft enough that it doesn't pull out my eyebrows (like the Essence one did) and the perfect match shade wise. Apart from the two, I also have two more eyebrow pencils, the Soap & Glory Archery 2in1 Brow filling pencil & brush in Blondshell & Archery Brow tint & precision shaping pencil in Love is blonde. I'm planning on reviewing these two at some point.
I also have two brow gels - MeMeMe Arch Angel Shape & Define in Light brown is the best one I've tried so far (review) and the Essence Make me brow in 01 Blondy brows that I'm trying to use up.

So there you have it, my eye & brow products collection & graveyard. As I mentioned previously, I did get quite a few more things since taking these photos, but I'll talk about those sooner or later.
I hope you enjoyed taking a peek into it and if there's a product you want to read a more detailed review on, please let me know.

Sanja ♥

*The products marked with * were given to me. I didn't buy them with my money. But that didn't and won't ever affect my opinion about the products in any way. The review is based on my personal experience with the product.*
