Beauty Buys Of The Month #11

Thursday, November 26, 2015

Hello ladies,
another month is almost over so it's time to share my beauty catch of the month with all of you.
If you follow me on any of my social media accounts, you probably already saw the majority of these products, but still, I always share some of my first impressions in these posts, so keep on reading.

Before I get into the haul, I would like to point out that if you any of the products spark some interest in you and you would like to read more about them, please let me know and I'll add it onto my list of ideas for future blog posts.

At the end of October we went to Seiersberg and of course I couldn't go home without picking up some beauty items as well.
In their Müller I got the Manhattan Last & Shine nail polish in 760 Moscow Night, Maybelline Super Stay Forever Strong 7 days nail polish in 287 Rouge Couture Midnight Red, Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil in 210 Keep it classy and Astor Soft Sensation Lipcolor Butter Matte in 027 Elegant Nude.
I haven't tried the Manhattan nail polish and the Maybelline lip pencil yet, but I did hear so much great things about both. These revamped Manhattan nail polishes are supposedly really amazing and just by swatching it, I could see that it went on really nicely & opaque, and the shade is absolutely stunning: very dark purple with tons of multicoloured gold specks of glitter.
I also finally got the oh so famous Maybelline lip pencil. This Keep it classy shade is deep, dark, raspberry shade that is supposedly one of the new ones, at least it said so on the stand. It has a nice, fruity, bubblegum smell and it looks very opaque. I need to try it on my lips asap.
But I did try the Maybelline nail polish and the Astor matte lip butter, and I love both of them. These Maybelline nail polishes are one of my favourites and I didn't have a dark, vampy red from this line yet. It's one of those shades that I constantly wear in the Winter, so I know I'll get a ton of wear out of it.
I also know that I'll get a ton of wear out of the Astor matte lip butter, since it's ''my colour'' - dark, brownish/marsala nude. It has a lovely, sweet scent, goes on very smoothly & opaque, doesn't dry out your lips and lasts for a long time. The lipstick is also angled, so it's very easy to get a precise application.
I also went to Douglas, because I wanted some new Zoeva brushes. I decided to pick up two and as you can see, I've already been using them quite a lot. The first one is the Zoeva 109 Luxe Face Paint, which is hands down the best brush for contouring ever (will talk about it more in my favourites), and the second one is the 227 Luxe Soft Definer, which is great for packing on the eyeshadow, but also for blending it out. It's a bit flatter and not so rounded as the MAC 217.
They also have a MAC stand there, so I ran to see if they have Patisserie and they did. I freaking love this shade, I was wearing it for two weeks straight after I bought it. It's just such an easy shade that goes well with a ton of make-up or with the bare minimum, and the fact that it lustre makes it also quite moisturising. I completely understand why it's so popular for weddings.
The lovely lady working at Douglas also gave me a sample of the Armani Si perfume, which I also really like.

I finally made it to the only H&M in Slovenia that currently carries their beauty range and frankly, I was quite disappointed. Almost all testers for cream products were absolutely gross looking and all dried up, and a lot of things were already sold out. But I still managed to find a few things that I really like, and I'm definitely planning on going back for some more.
The Pure Radiance Powder Blusher in Cameo Pink was love at first sight, so much so, that I had to get another one for one of my giveaways. It's that dusty rose shade that I absolutely adore and it for sure has that luminous finish as it claims to. It also claims to have a sheer coverage and it's definitely not crazily pigmented, but I usually build it up in two applications. It's also really soft on the touch.
Now the packaging looked absolutely stunning on all the photos going around in the blogging world, but it sadly does feel really plastic and kinda cheap in real life. I wish the quality of the packaging would measure up to the look of it, and it could also have a mirror in my opinion.
I spent most of the time at the eyeshadow stand, swatching the majority of them and finding out one after another that every one that I wanted was sold out. That was until I came across their High Impact Eye Colour in Cocoa Mauve. I'm currently really into these purple(ish) shades and this one looked a bit different from the ones that I already own. I much prefer the packaging of this one, it just looks better and also feels more sturdy. As far as the eyeshadow goes, I find it to be very pigmented, with a lovely satin finish and not so soft on the touch. I also noticed that I have to put a bit more effort into blending it out, cause it's not the easiest to blend, but it's definitely worth that extra time, since it makes my eyes pop.
I also got their Eye Colour To-Go in Cordoba: very pigmented, creamy and easy to blend out. Also one of those shades that can be worn on its own or paired with others.
Now the main thing that blew me away with these three products is the longevity. I actually can't believe how long-lasting all of them are. When I first wore the blusher & eye colour to go I had them on for 15 hours and the eye colour to go looked exactly the same (no fading or smudging whatsoever) and the blusher only faded a bit, but it was still very visible. The same goes for the high impact eye colour, it doesn't budge no matter how long I have it on. Now if that isn't impressive...
Now the nail polish in Smoky Aubergine sadly didn't won me over. It looks like a nice, dark, auberginey grey shade in the bottle and on the swatches at the store, but it looks completely smoky grey on my nails. I could get over that if everything else was great. But it chipped it two days, which is really disappointing since nail polishes usually last for a long time on me, especially with the right top coat. But I do like the packaging and the brush.

Everyone went mad for Essence TE Marry Berry collection and so did I.
I skipped on the lipsticks since they didn't really appeal to me, but I knew I had to get the highlighter powder and the 02 Purple with purpose & 03 Pink&perfect nail polishes. The first two were easy to find, but the Pink & perfect nail polish was already sold out everywhere that I looked, and I gave up on it until I found it in Tuš Drogerija. Boy was I happy! I haven't tried any of them on me yet, but they all look stunning & very promising formula wise just by swatching.
Yesterday I spotted a magazine called Ženski svet in the store and I noticed it had two Catrice freebies in it. Since both of them looked really nice, I decided to pick it up. It came with Catrice Absolute Eye Colour in 540 Rose Marie's Baby, a dusty rose shade, and their Made to Stay Smoothing Lip Polish in 080 What's Your Anti-Nude?, a classic, every day, peachy-pink shade.

I don't know what happened to my lips this month, but it was awful. They were so dry, completely chapped, sore and none of my lip balms, ''home remedies'', etc. seemed to help them. I was so desperate that I decided to splurge on the Nuxe Reve De Miel lip balm to see if it really was a miracle worker.
And yes, it did heal my lips completely in two days, but I really don't like it otherwise. It's so thick, waxy and makes my lips look kinda yellowish, so I can only wear it at home. Plus it way too expensive.
I also bought another Le Petit Olivier Lip Balm Stick with Anti-Aging Argan Oil cause I used up the previous one and I always need to have it in my stash.
Lastly, I finally remembered to buy the Deborah Milano Smalto Gel Effect nail polish in 01. I own a few shades from this range and I really like them; they're very opaque, glossy, long-wearing and have a nice, wide brush. But this one has been on my mind ever since I saw it over at Mateja's blog yet I always somehow managed to forget to buy it. Now I finally have it and I'm loving it. It's another phenomenal nude shade, that has more of a dusty rose look to it on my nails (it kinda matches that Catrice eyeshadow or Limit from the UD Naked 3).

I think that the award for the best PR package has to go to Nivea. Not only do they always include a hand-written note, but this time they included a pair of Fascino Sleep Socks. I mean, cute fuzzy socks in a PR package? Yes please!
But their Nourishing body milk is really great too, especially now that the colder days are upon us. Will talk about it more in a separate post.

Le Couvent Des Minimes came out with a new line called Loving Care for the Face and they kindly sent me The cream for sensitive skin and 3 in 1 Micellar water to try out. I'm already testing out both of them and the review with more informations about the line and the products will be up sometime in mid December.

Me spominja na otroštvo :).
Sami super nakupi. Jaz bi tudi še kakšen Zoeva čopič :).
