Empties #14

Hello ladies,
brace yourself Winter is coming, I mean another long empties post is upon us.
I know this has nothing to do with this, but I just started watching Game of Thrones yesterday (yeah, I know I'm super late to the party) and I'm already OBSESSED with it.

It has been almost three months since my last empties post and once again I managed to use up quite a lot of product. I'm actually getting really good at using up products before buying new ones (especially shower stuff).

Shower Empties
1. Dove Purely Pampering Caring Cream Bath Shea Butter with Warm Vanilla: We used this as a shower gel and it's amazing; smells heavenly (although it is more of a ''wintery'' scent), it's very creamy and nourishing on the skin.
Would I repurchase? Definitely.

2. Balea LE Paradise Beach duschgel: a standard shower gel that once again smells great but doesn't really have any moisturising properties, although it doesn't dry out my skin either. It smells like pineapple & coconut, so it's great for this time of the year.
Would I repurchase? Yes, if it's still available.

3. Garnier Oil Beauty oil-infused nourishing scrub: This stuff is amazing and I absolutely love it. Now that I'm using another similar scrub (the Balea Apple & Cinnamon one) I see just how much I like this one. Read more about it here.
Would I repurchase? Without a doubt!

4. Nivea In-shower body milk Smooth Sensation dry skin Shea Butter: I mentioned that I wasn't a fan of the original version quite awhile ago and I stayed away from them since then. But over Christmas time I got a Nivea set from some family friends and this was one of the product included. I do think it's better than the original one, but it still didn't won me over. This just isn't moisturising enough for when my skin is very dry, so I was switching between this and other body lotions every other day to make it work.
Would I repurchase? No.

5. Garnier Ultimate Beauty Oil Skin Perfector: I bought this when it was on offer 2 for 1 since I'm so obsessed with the scent of the scrub. At first I absolutely loved it, but then I started noticing that it wasn't really sinking into my skin properly and that it felt really oily on my skin. I'm not sure if my skin just isn't as dry as it was over the colder months, but I definitely prefer the Yves Rocher Monoi de Tahiti dry body oil over this one.
Would I repurchase? I still have one left in my stash (will probably save it for the colder months), but after that, no.

Hair product empties
6. Schwarzkopf Got2b Volumania volume refreshing styling powder: I'm so happy I finally picked this up as I really love it. It's not as good as the Charles Worthington one, but I love using it together with that one, or on days when I don't want such a strong hold & texture, and my hair also needs a bit of refreshment. It's like a texturising spray and a dry shampoo had a baby and this was it. Plus it smells nice; fruity and sweet.
Would I repurchase? Yes, it's already on my 'to-buy' list.

7. Dove Advanced Hair Series Pure Pflege Schwereloses öl (Pure Care Dry Oil conditioner): I really enjoyed using this conditioner, it made my hair feel and look silky smooth, but it didn't weight down my hair. As I mentioned here, I think this is my favourite Dove conditioner that I've tried so far.
Would I repurchase? Yes, although I love switching up my conditioners.

8. L'oreal Elseve Extraordinary Oil nourishing shampoo: I really liked this one at first as it made my hair look shiny and soft, plus it smells great, but after some washes, I started noticing that this was weighting down my hair and creating quite a lot of build up. I still like it, but it's not one of those shampoos I could use every time I was my hair.
Would I repurchase? Maybe.

9. Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce Texturising Spray: You know how I said I had a love-hate relationship with it at first? Well, this has become my holy grail and I can't imagine wearing curly hair without it. It completely changes the look & texture of curls, giving them crazy amounts of volume and that beachy wave look. I'm obsessed with it.
Would I repurchase? Already did.

10. L'oreal Elnett de Luxe Volume hairspray: I love Elnett hairsprays, and I always buy these mini ones since I rarely use them, but this one was awful. It didn't add any volume, it didn't really had a strong hold either, all it did was make my hair sticky and greasy. I was really struggling to use it up.
Would I repurchase? Hell no!

Skin care empties
11. Afrodita Clean Phase Cream Peeling allantoin & apricot microganules: this was my second tube of it and I love it. As it does have these micro-granules it is quite harsh, so it's not one of those daily scrubs, but it does its job perfectly.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

12. Aldo Vandini Sensual Aroma Handbalsam Tamarinde & Ingwer: I loved this hand cream, my friend got it for me last year in a set of three, and it ticks all the boxes for a great hand cream; moisturising, sinks into the skin quickly, doesn't leave any greasy residue, smells nice. It's also the perfect handbag size and this one has the same scent as their Spirit of India body scrub.
Would I repurchase? Yes, but I'm not sure if this set is still available.

13. Balea Bodybutter Nuss (Hazelnut): If you have dry skin, this will be your best friend. It's ridiculously thick, but in a good way, it smells like Monte dessert and it will make your skin soft & moisturised. This is actually so potent, that I didn't have to use it every day. I also think it's really comparable to The Body Shop body butter, just much cheaper.
Would I repurchase? The second I use up the other body lotions in my stash.

14. Afrodita Clean Phase Astringent effect tonic hyaluronic acid & lemon extract: Another product that I've repurchased a few times already. It's an amazing toner for normal to oily skin and it helps to keep blemishes at bay, restore your pH balance without completely striping your skin of natural oils.
Would I repurchase? I'm currently using a different one, but I would still repurchase this one.

15. Avon Slip into Daring perfume: I have a strange thing with the Avon perfumes - at first I absolutely love them and after awhile I get extremely bothered by their scent. This one was no difference, but I kinda started liking it again when I was almost done with it. I won't try to describe it cause I suck at that (but you can read about it here), but I will tell you that it is a strong scent that lingers on the skin & clothes for a long time.
Would I repurchase? Hm, probably not.

16. Rexona Maximum Protection anti-transpirant Clean Scent: I said it before and I'll say it again - this is the bomb.com & without a doubt the best deodorant I've ever used. Although I've repurchase it a bunch of times, it still works perfectly. The Clean Scent is also my favourite version as it doesn't mix with your perfumes.
Would I repurchase? Already did.

17. Refan 173 (Dior Hypnotic Poison replica): I was so sad when I ran out of this one, but luckily it's very cheap so I need to repurchase it asap. It smells heavenly and it's one of those perfumes I always get a compliment on, especially guys seem to like it. Since I haven't owned the original one, I can't compare the two, but only from trying the original one (here are the notes of it) in stores, I can tell you that this smells exactly like it and it's also extremely long-lasting on me. The bottle truly isn't the prettiest, but for such a huge price difference, I can't complain.
Would I repurchase? Of course, I just need to get my ass to one of their stores.

Makeup empties
18. Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless grow lash complex + fibres mascara: After my Lasik eye surgery, I decided to throw away all the open mascaras in my stash. Luckily all three of them were almost empty any way, and this one was one of them. It was a good every day mascara with an amazing wand, but it smudged on me after a few hours no matter what. You can read more about it here.
Would I repurchase? Not really.

19. Max Factor Clump Defy by false lash effect mascara: was also featured in the link above and another mediocre one. I did like it, but not enough for me to repurchase it.
Would I repurchase? No.

20. Maybelline The Rocket volum' express mascara: was my holy grail for probably a year or so, and I've repurchase it numerous times. I still think it's one of the best mascaras that I've ever tried, but I do prefer their Lash Sensational lash multiplying mascara over it now.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

21. Essence All about matt! fixing compact powder: has some serious battle wounds. The lid broke off a long time ago, so I just tapped it together and throw it in my handbag to use as my setting powder on the go. When I was switching between my bags a few weeks ago, I noticed that the powder itself also cracked, so I'm throwing it away. It's a great mattifying powder, but it can overly dry out your skin and look a bit powdery.
Would I repurchase? No.

22. Body & Soul eyebrow spoolie: also lost its life after years of washing it. It's a good and cheap eyebrow spoolie, but I do prefer the one from the Essence Duo Eyebrow Styler brush.
Would I repurchase? Only if I really had to.

23. Burt's Bees Honey Lip Balm: A great lip balm that works even with chapped & sore lips. The scent is not my favourite, but I also don't find it unpleasant.
Would I repurchase? Yes,

24. Labello Repair & Beauty: is another lip balm that really helps with cracked & dry lips, but it also gives them a slight wash of colour. I also love the scent of it and I've scraped out the last bit of the product before throwing it in my empties box. Read more about it here.
Would I repurchase? Definitely.

25. Catrice Lash/ Brow Designer: I've used this as a clear eyebrow gel and it was good, but I'm too in love with tinted brow gels to use it up completely.
Would I repurchase? No.

26. Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Eye Cream: I was so sad to use this one up as it's my favourite concealer for no-makeup days. It's the most natural looking one that I own and although it doesn't cover my dark circles completely, it manages to make them look decent since it's so brightening. Here's a full review.
Would I repurchase? Of course.

Sample empties
27. My Hoin Ni Caviar Extract Mask: is one of the sheet masks I got for my birthday and one of those I'll keep repurchasing myself. It's a lot more moist than the Montagne Jeunesse Tea Tree Face Spa sheet mask, but it also gives instant results. It feels a bit cooling on the skin and I've left it on for 30 minutes (on the package it says 20-25min). After that you're supposed to rub the rest of the product into your skin, which I did. I was left with a much brighter, plumper and more glowy skin, that felt extremely smooth and soft on the touch. You can buy it in Müller.
Would I repurchase? Definitely.

28. L'Occitane samples: I've used up the samples that I've talked about here. Because I haven't changed my opinions about them since then, I won't repeat myself again, but I'll only tell you which ones I would buy a full size of. I still have a few of these samples left that I'm saving for travelling & if I change my mind about a certain product, I'll report back.
Would I repurchase/ Buy the full size: Pivoine Sublime Perfecting Essence (this little sample lasted for quite a few uses actually) and Amande Velvet Balm.

29. Biore Ultra Nose Strip: I just featured these in my last post, but I had to try one that same day. I'm happy to report that these actually work! This one strip got out a lot of black&white-heads, so much actually that it was disgusting yet satisfying to look at. These nose strips are definitely worth the hype, but they do dry on your nose like a cast, so removing it is a bit painful.
Would I repurchase? I still have 5 left, but after that, yes!

What was the last product you used up?

  1. COOL! I NEED TO FIND THE Garnier Oil Body!

    1. Let me know how you'll going to like it :)

    1. Uuuu, hvala za namig. Bom definitivno šla pogledat :)
Ja res je, moji lasje niso kaj ekstra zahtevni :D

  3. wow, this is a lot of products :) always good to see a fellow beauty lover ;)

    1. It truly is, I'm quite proud of myself to see that I'm actually using up products not only buying new ones :D

  4. Garnier piling in Dove geli za tuširanje so res fantastični! :)

    1. Some of them were really perfect :)

  7. The Balea products sound good! Esp the gel body wash that smells of Pineapple! :) Would def love that

    1. Yes, that one smells like pina-colada :) So good :D

  8. I've been looking everywhere for that Garnier Oil Scrub! I know they sold it here in Belgium so I want to try it out but I can't find it anywhere anymore :o
Great empties post, like always! :D

    1. Oh, that's a shame. If you won't be able to find it & still want to try it, just let me know and I'll send one over :) xx
