FOTD: Current every day(ish) make-up routine

Friday, April 03, 2015

Hello ladies,
since I'm currently not at Uni any more, I very rarely wear a full face of make-up. But I noticed that I've been gravitating toward the same ''make-up routine'' for the past couple of months, so I decided to share it with you.

I named this my every day(ish) routine due to the fact that I don't wear this ever day, but this is my go-to routine for every time I have to run some errands, grab a coffee with my friends, go shopping or something like that.
This routine is extremely simple, easy, natural and most importantly, quick. I actually kinda have two different ones, so I'll talk about my ''alternatives'' at the end of this post.

This ''first routine'' is what I would call the 'no make up - make up' and it's the one I wear most often.
The first two steps are always the same; first I moisturise with the GREEN LINE HydroMineral  light moisturizing cream for mixed and oily skin that keeps my face matte yet still hydrated. Since it's really lightweight, it sinks into the skin extremely quickly and prepares it for the next step; Max Factor Facefinity All day primer. I'm truly obsessed with this thing and I think I need to do a whole blog post dedicated to it. It makes my skin extremely smooth, it glides over my pores and makes my complexion look more even.
Since I'm lucky enough to have a blemish free skin most of the time, I only use concealer to cover my dark circles and redness around my nose. I'm currently back to using the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC eye cream in 21 Ivory and I'm loving it. It's very brightening, looks natural and has enough coverage for every day.
Lastly, I set my whole face with the Alverde Kompaktpuder in 010 Naturelle.

As far as the rest of makeup goes, I use my beloved Artdeco Eye brow pencil in 6 to elongate my eyebrow tail, and the Essence Make me brow eyebrow mascara in 01 Blondy brows to give my brows a bit of colour, fullness and to make them stay in place.
Then I use the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless mascara, since it looks the most natural from every other mascaras that I own, and since it finally stopped smudging on me. Another two things that look very natural, are the Catrice Lip and cheek colour in Blossom Me, Blossom You (LE Eve in bloom), which is a reddish cream blusher that is extremely easy to blend out and makes you look like you're naturally blushing, and the Burt's Bees Replenishing lip balm with pomegranate that gives my lips just a tiny bit of colour and lots of moisture.

The brushes I use for this are the Ecotools Domed Bronzer Brush for powder, Real Techniques Duo-fibre face brush for blush, Ebay angled brush for concealer and Real Techniques Setting brush for setting the concealer under my eyes.
I also have one extra brush for my ''second routine'' and it's the Real Techniques Cheek brush for powder blush.

And now I few words about my ''second routine'' which I gravitate toward if I have any breakouts, feel like I need more coverage, if I want to look a bit more put together, or I need my make-up to last a whole day.
The first two steps stay the same, and the first thing I change is my concealer. If I have any breakouts, or I want more coverage under my eyes, I use the Maybelline Fit Me in 15. So far, this is my favourite full-coverage drugstore concealer and I'm running quite low on it.
I also change my setting powder, cause the Alverde one doesn't keep me mattified for a whole day, and the Catrice Prime and Fine mattifying powder does. This one also helps to make my pores look almost invisible.
As far as eye make-up goes, I keep everything the same, except my brows. I use the Soap & Glory Archery brow tint & precision shaping pencil in Love is blonde to sculpt them out a bit more.
Sometimes, I'm also not in the mood for cream blushes, so that is when the Essence Silky Touch blush in Adorable comes to the rescue. As I'm trying to use it up, this is currently my go-to powder blush and it also looks very soft and girly on the cheeks. Most time then not, I top everything off with the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker gloss stick in Nudist as it looks just a bit darker than my lips.
I also included another cream blush option that I absolutely love for this look, since the Catrice one was from a limited edition collection; the NYX Rouge Cream Blush in Rose Petal. It's a dusky pink shade, that once again, looks very natural on the cheeks.

And here you can see how everything looks on me.
On the left side I'm wearing my ''first'' every day routine, and on the right side, my ''second'' one with the Essence blush.
Also, I'm sorry for wearing my glasses as my hair accessory, I never realised how difficult taking photos is when you can't see what you're actually doing.

What does your current every day make-up routine looks like?
