Empties 13

Tuesday, April 07, 2015

Hello ladies,
as promised last week, here's another empties post. I really hope you won't mind that I've done two of them so closely together.

In this one, I'll talk you through a few makeup empties and quite a few products that I'm throwing away cause I either couldn't use them up, or it's time for us to say our goodbyes.

 1. L'oreal Miss Manga mega volume mascara: I really like this mascara, a lot and this is my second tube of it. I don't prefer it to my Rocket, but it's up there. It gives my lashes a lot of length, enough volume, that dolls-eye effect and doesn't smudges.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

2. Alverde Augen-Brauengel in 01 Blond: I love this stuff and I've talked about it quite a few times already. It's the perfect colour for my brows, it's pigmented, fills in my brows and keeps them in place. It has lasted me for a really long time, but it does have a big brush, so if you have thin eyebrows, this wouldn't really work for you.
Would I repurchase? Most definitely.

3. Misslyn Concealer in 03: This was also in my Products I want to use up post and I've been trying to use it up for a really long time. I actually couldn't be happier, when that finally happened. I didn't like it; it didn't have enough coverage, it was too yellow and it always creased on me.
Would I repurchase? Never!

4. Labello Coconut Lip butter: This was a lovely surprise and you can read more about it here. It was living on my desk and I've been using it whenever I felt my lips where getting a bit dry. It won't heal your chapped lips, but it gives enough moisture for a day to day use.
Would I repurchase? Already did.

Now onto the things I'm throwing away.
5. Bourjois Intense smoky Liner & Eyeshadow 62 Violet costelle: This was horrible, you can read about it here. But I luckily managed to easily depot the liner, which was the only good part about it.
Would I repurchase? Hell no.

6. H&M Duo nail polish in Lavender Frost: I was recently organising my nail polish collection and I found a few of them that were dried up. This was one of them. I really liked the purple shade, but I wasn't too keen on the beige one as it looked really weird against my skin tone. It had a flimsy, thin brush and it didn't last the longest on my nails.
Would I repurchase? No.

7. Flormar Supershine perfect polish in 33: I was so sad to see this one go, it's one of my all time favourite shades (you can see it in action here). I bought it a few years ago in Croatia and ever since, it has been my go-to Summer shade. I've used so much of it, that the brush can't pick up the product that's left at the bottom. It's also very clumpy and thick. I need to get to the Flormar stand in Ljubljana and see if they still have it.
Would I repurchase? Most definitely.

8. Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer in Snow Motion!: is another completely dried up nail polish. I did manage to use half of it, which is quite good considering I manly only use it for nail art.
Would I repurchase? Probably.

9. Essence Colour & Go quick drying nail polish in Blue addicted: This one isn't dried up, but the brush isn't functional any more. For some reason all the bristles are going into separate directions and it's just impossible to use. I can't even remember the last time I've used it, so it makes no sense for me to keep it.
Would I repurchase? No.

10. Collection Big Fake Curves False lash effect mascara: This was the biggest fail of them all and I didn't really know where to put it; in the empties part, or in this throwing away part. I've talked about it here and since then I haven't used it because I was always put off by the splashes of mascara on my dresser. I recently decided to use it again, just to found out that this is completely dried out. And I know for a fact, that I didn't use it enough, for it to be completely empty.
Would I repurchase? Never.

11. Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil eye cream: When I won the giveaway of the Vichy eye cream that was featured in my previous empties, Maja was kind enough to sent me a sample of this eye cream as well. I've used it a couple times in between, and it was very lightweight and more hydrating than the Vichy one, but when I started using it again recently, it gave me these horrible dry patches on the areas where I've tapped it on. This was probably my fault cause I didn't use it up sooner, but now it's definitely time for me to throw it away.
In the times that I did use it, I've noticed that this is too lightweight for my liking, but I'm really thankful that I had the chance to try it cause it was on my wish-list.
Would I repurchase? No, I wouldn't buy the full size of it.

12. L' Angelica Deep Cleansing Mousse for firm and radiant facial skin: Another product that I wanted to use up, but I just couldn't. This really does make your skin firm, but not in a good way. I found that ever since my skin isn't as oily as it used to be, this was way too harsh and drying for me. When I noticed a few dry patches on my skin, I finally decided to give up on it. I was also starting to get extremely bothered by the scent of it.
Would I repurchase? No.

13. Balea Wellness Fuß Butter Lemongras & Minze: Another drying product that really disappointed me. Although this is supposed to moisturise your feet, it actually dried up mine even more.
Would I repurchase? Not in a million years.

14. Alverde Aqua Feuchtigkets-kur: I used to love this product, but when they changed the packaging, they also seemed to change the formula, cause this is really bad now. And it stinks of alcohol. More about it here.
Would I repurchase? Definitely not.

15. Sephora Colorful Universal Atomizer: I bought this in Paris as I've lost my original Travalo before that. I wasn't too keen on it since the start, cause you had to spray the perfume in it, instead of just pumping it out, but it did its job. That was until the spray pump completely broke and it was impossible to spray the perfume out of it. Now I already ordered a cheap Travalo lookalike from Ebay, that I like much better.
Would I repurchase? No.

16. E.L.F. Professional Defining Eye brush: I honestly didn't use this brush a lot, cause I never found a true purpose for it. It was too fluffy, soft and thick for an eyeliner or a brow brush, but it also didn't really work for smudging out or applying shadows. Looks like the years of washing it finally caught up with it and the glue came off.
Would I repurchase? Nope.

What was the last makeup product you used up recently?

Sanja ♥
