I took a blogging break last week, but I'm back today with all of my November favourites. Surprisingly, I have a lot of make-up bits to share with you this time.
And I just have to say it: HOW THE HELL IT'S ALREADY THE SECOND WEEK OF DECEMBER?!?
November was quite a stressful week when it comes to my skin. At the beginning of it I was trying out two new face creams and one of them broke me out like crazy. I still don't know which one it was and I'm dreading the time when I'll have to do the test to figure it out. On top of that, I also had a serious problem with extremely dry and chapped lips, they were looking absolutely awful.
Luckily it's all sorted now.
I was planning on talking about this first product since September, but I always forgot to bring it out from the bathroom. I've been using the Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser almost daily since August and this seriously freed my pores, as they would say. I noticed such a huge difference in my pores, especially on my nose. They look smaller, tighter and the blackheads are way less dark & obvious. It has a very minty scent and feels tingly & refreshing on the skin, which I absolutely love (but be careful not to get it in your eye). You can see that I also have quite a bit left although I've been using it since August, cause half of a pump is more than enough for my face. I'll definitely be repurchasing it when I'm placing another order at Boots.
Le Couvent Des Minimes Botanical Cologne of Love was a surprise favourite. When we got it at the Beautiful Bloggers Meet-Up and I sniffed it, I wasn't a fan of the scent, cause it was too fruity for me, but when I sprayed it for the first time, I was hooked. It somehow transforms on the skin and gets to a much warmer, sweeter, yet still fresh & citrusy smell. It's my current go-to scent for daytime since the smell of oranges really reminds me of Winter time. I'm also a huge fan of the packaging and the spray thingy, since it's so powerful. It looks like it might last me for a lifetime as well.
Since my skin was full of tiny breakouts, I wanted something with more coverage yet still not a proper foundation and the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream in 31 Ivory has the most coverage out of all my BB & CC creams. I'm squeezing out the last bits of it and I'll definitely be repurchasing as soon as I ran out of it, since it's just amazing.
I've been a fan of Garnier spot treatment thing for years & years, but I had a coupon for the Essence Pure Skin Anti-spot Gel so I decided to try it out, since it's cheaper and I found out that it works just as great as the Garnier one. It definitely was one of the skin saviours in November for me.
I was only wearing two blushes regularly in November. The first one was the H&M Beauty Pure Radiance Powder Blush in Cameo Pink which goes with everything, has an amazing longevity and looks really pretty & natural on the cheeks. And the second one was a forgotten favourite, the Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush in 020 Pink Rose, which is a bit more peachy-pink, has more shimmers to it, but still has a great, long-lasting formula.
As soon as I get to my palest self, I bring out this next bad boy - The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in 01. I said it before and I'll say it again, this is the best bronzer ever. You could bronze up your face in your sleep and you would still look great, if you used this one. I use it 99% of the time when I'm doing my make-up so I'm kinda surprised I haven't hit pan on it yet. It's the perfect shade for us pale girls (I could probably even go a shade darker), it's has just the perfect pigmentation, it's a dream to blend and lasts forever.
I've mentioned in my beauty buys that Zoeva 109 Luxe Face Paint is the best contour brush ever, and it really is. I'm not sure how I contoured before it, but this changed everything. It fits right into the hollows of my cheeks, creates a defined contour line, but it's still soft enough so that you can blend out that line to a much softer look (I just flip up the brush to blend everything out). I would highly recommend this brush to everyone.
I have three different eyeshadow palettes to talk about this time. I know, I know, I even surprised myself.
The Catrice and the Essence one were a part of the goody bag from the Beautiful Bloggers Meet-Up and I most likely wouldn't buy either of them on my own, yet I absolutely love them.
I was kinda put off the Catrice Chocolate Nudes eyeshadow palette in 010 Choc' Let it be since reading Mateja's review and I definitely have to agree that compared to other Catrice eyeshadows, these do lack pigmentation and softness (especially the matte shades), but I've been reaching for it quite a lot. The shadows perform much better with a primer and give a nice wash of colour for days when you don't really want to go all out with your eye look. I marked the three shades that I've been using the most with a heart, but I have to say that the last marked one at the top, a gorgeous bronze/coppery shade is one of the most beautiful shadows ever (luckily, it's also much softer & pigmented than the rest).
I've been also using the top two shades from the Avon True Colour quad in Mocha Latte a lot. Again, two shades that just look great without any real effort needed.
Lastly, the palette that surprised me the most - Essence All About Roses eyeshadow palette in 03 Roses. I seriously can't believe the amazing quality of such an affordable eyeshadow palette. The shadows are buttery soft, very pigmented, long-lasting and easy to blend. And the colour selection is perfect for everyone who loves rosy & purplish tones. Now I kinda want to get the nude one as well although I don't need any more eyeshadows.
And lastly, some lip products. Since my lips were so dry and chapped, I stayed away from lipsticks and relaid on lipglosses, but the first two weeks I only wore MAC Patisserie so I had to mention it. I can already tell you that this is one of my all time favourite lipsticks that I own, and I only bought it in October. It's a staple. Everyone needs it. Go and buy it now.
The two glossy options that I was wearing the other half of the month are Catrice Glossy Lip Glow which is ridiculously fun to use cause it almost always looks different on my lips (from hot pink, to fuchsia pink, to a only slightly pinker version of my lips) and Maybelline Color Elixir in 725 Caramel Infused which is another great, nude, liquid lipstick/gloss. Both very moisturising which was just what I needed.
And now the swatches.
1 are all the shades that are marked with a heart in the Essence All About Roses eyeshadow palette in 03 Roses, 2 Avon True Colour quad in Mocha Latte, 3 Catrice Chocolate Nudes eyeshadow palette in 010 Choc' Let it be, 4 Catrice Glossy Lip Glow on half of my lips, so you can see the difference (you can also see how it looks on here), 5 Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream in 31 Ivory, 6 MAC Patisserie, 7 Maybelline Color Elixir in 725 Caramel Infused, 8 Catrice Glossy Lip Glow, 9 Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush in 020 Pink Rose, 10 H&M Beauty Pure Radiance Powder Blush in Cameo Pink, 11 The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in 01.
