November Sparkles

Hello ladies,
today marks the first day of Blogmas, hurray!
I hope you are as excited as I am. As I was planning and as you voted in my survey, I'll be blogging every other day until Christmas (or maybe even until New Year's if I'll really get into it).

So I'm starting this Blogmas with my November favourites.
I tried a bunch of new product this past month and I have quite a few amazing items to share with you so I better get started.

First we have two hair products; the Pantene Pro-V Clarifying shampoo knocked my socks off the first time I used it. My hair feels so soft & clean, and looks very voluminous & healthy every time I use it. This really gets rid of any build up and since it is so stripping, you need to use a good conditioner or a hair mask with it. I use it every time I feel like my hair is starting to feel heavy or if I know I'll be going somewhere and I need my hair to look its best.  Now I can definitely see that I was in desperate need of a clarifying shampoo.
I have a love-hate relationship with Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce Texturising spray, but I decided to include it because I've been using it a lot in November. This works wonders on curled hair, gives them so much volume, texture and life in general. I absolutely love how it makes my hair look and the fact that it also holds curls in their place, but I hate that it makes my hair feel quite dry and hard. I don't know, maybe I'm doing something wrong because all I've been reading are good reviews on this, so I'll definitely keep playing around with it to try and avoid the negative sides.
Prepare yourself for this next statement; If I had to wear only one nail polish shade for the rest of my life, it would most likely be Rose Poudre (130) from Maybelline Forever Strong Super Stay 7 days Gel Nail Colour. It's a rosy nude shade that looks gorgeous on my skin tone. It's opaque in two coats, lasts all week, but the best thing about it is that it also looks amazing if you only apply one, sheer layer. I actually prefer it to the Essie Spin the Bottle and I never thought that any nude shade could beat that one.
I'll be honest, I only wore the Essence Effect Nail Polish in Icy fairy once, but I just had to mention it. Layered over a black nail polish, it looks like you have a galaxy on your nails. I got so many compliments in the week I was wearing it and I definitely think that this will be my go-to nail polish over the Christmas holidays.

Next up are two concealers that are quite similar yet different enough that I can justify having both (well, I only need to justify getting the NARS one, as the Collection one is really cheap).
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is as good if not even better as everyone says. I actually think I found my perfect concealer in this one; it's super pigmented, I only need a small amount and it hides all my dark circles, lasts all day and doesn't creases if I set it with powder. It's quite thick, but I don't find it to be heavy or cakey-looking. I have the shade Light 2 Vanilla which also works great for covering any blemishes.
Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer is an amazing drugstore gem. It doesn't hide my dark circles as quickly and as good as the NARS one, but it still does a better job than probably all the concealers I've tried so far. It's also very pigmented and has a similar consistency than the NARS one, although I find it to be a bit heavier and it can also look cakey if I layer it up too much. I have the shade 1 Fair which is lighter than the Vanilla so it's a bit more brightening, but it doesn't look the best if I use it on blemishes. I use this one on a day to day basis, and the NARS one whenever I'm going somewhere.
To blend my concealer, I've been religiously using one of these no-name Ebay brushes (here). It comes in a set of four other ''foundation'' brushes and they're amazing for the price. The only brush that I'm not too keen on is the pointy one, as it's very dense and I haven't found a way to use it other than on any spot concealing or concealing around my lips for a very precise lipstick application.

These four products have been my standard go-to makeup items in November.
I decided to force myself away from using the Catrice Illuminating Blush so instead of that, my go-to blush was the Maybelline Colorama blush in 501. In the pan it looks like a darker mauve berry shade, but it comes off lighter on the cheeks. It has a lot of tiny shimmers in it, but they don't look very glittery on the face, they rather give your cheeks a nice glow. It's also nicely pigmented and easy to blend.
I've been using the Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics every time I wore eye makeup. I talked about it in my Autumn Eyeshadows Picks so I won't bore you again, but it's amazing; pigmented, easy to blend, long-lasting, gorgeous selection of neutral matte shades. What more could you ask for?
I bought the Catrice Absolute Eye Colour eyeshadow in 400 My First Copperware Party because I found a pin on Pinterest saying that this is a dupe for MAC's Satin taupe that I always forget to buy. It's very pigmented, soft & easy to blend and the shade itself work amazingly well with my eye colour. Next time you're in a drugstore definitely give it a swatch.
I decided to avoid including limited edition products in my favourites, but I had to make an exception for the Essence Hello Autumn eye pencil in Leaves are the new beef. I've been wearing it almost every day, which for a non eye pencil lover says A LOT. It's very soft since it's made for smudging, but it still lasts extremely well on my oily eyelids. I've been mostly using it ever so slightly winged out and since it's a very warm brown shade, it looks very natural on me yet still makes my lashes look fuller and gives something extra to the ''only mascara makeup look''.

Last but not least, some more makeup brushes.
First is the Real Techniques Nic's Picks set that consists of a duo-fiber face brush, cheek brush, angled shadow brush, base shadow brush and an eyeliner brush.
I've been loving all of these, but I'm still trying to find the perfect job for the duo-fiber brush. I've been using it for cream blushes and for blending together the blush, bronzer and highlighter, but I've read that it works great with a loose powder, but I haven't tried that yet. Will report back once I do.
Cheek brush has become my go-to blush brush (it's a lot more dense, smaller, shorter and more flat than their Blush Brush), the angled shadow brush works great for defining or blending out the outer v of your eyes, base shadow brush is an all-rounder and the eyeliner brush is very tiny and slim so it's perfect for getting a sharp and slim eyeliner look, or for drawing the single hairs in your brows.
The Zoeva brushes will get a separate review so I'm only going to quickly mention them here. The 221 Luxe Soft Crease has knocked the MAC 217 off its thrown as it works even better for my small and hooded eyes. It's smaller, slimmer and more pointy than the 217, and because of that it fits even better into my crease. And the 103 Defined Buffer replaced my Real Techniques Buffing brush. It's more dense and since it's angled, it fits perfectly around my nose and mouth and under my eyes. It also gives a gorgeous finish without having to use a lot of foundation.

Here are some swatches.
On top from left to right are; Maybelline blush, Catrice eyeshadow, Essence eye pencil, Collection concealer and NARS concealer.
On the bottom are Maybelline nail polish, Essence nail polish layered over a black one and a selfie, showing you the Charles Worthington texturising spray in action.

What was the product that stood out for your in November?

Naked Basics2 je pa itak zakon - se moram kar prisilit, da še kero drugo paletko uporabim. :D
