Review*: Labello Lip Balms

Tuesday, November 25, 2014

Hello ladies,
today I have a long overdue review for you.
I've been kindly sent a few Labello products in October and I've been testing them out for the past month or so.

Let me just say, that this was one of the nicest packages I've ever received, they actually included some roasted almonds that I devoured instantly.
They also included not one, but three different lip balms; Repair & Beauty, Coconut Lip Butter and Fruity Shine Cherry.
I've been using Labello products as long as I can remember, and their lip balms are without a doubt my favourite ones. So let see what I thought about these three.

You all know that at first I wasn't a fan of the Vanilla & Macadamia Lip Butter but after I awhile I grew to love it. Well, my love affair with Coconut Lip Butter started from the second I sniffed it. It has the most amazing coconut scent ever, it straight up smells like Summer in a pot. Every time I open it, I can imagine myself lying under a palm tree on some tropical island sipping on a Pina Colada.
Although it's not the most hydrating and nourishing lip balm out there, I find it to be a lot less waxy and more moisturising than the Vanilla & Macadamia one, which was a pleasant surprise. It won't heal your chapped lips, but it's good enough for every day use and helps to keep those dry patches away.
Since this comes in a pot, which is not the most convenient or hygienic thing to carry around, it lives next to my computer and I find myself reaching for it throughout the whole day.
You get 16,7g / 19ml of product and it retails for around 2,50€, and I find that they last for a really long time.

Next up is the Fruity Shine Cherry that again smells extremely delicious. I've always loved cherry scented things, and you can really smell the sourness yet sweetness of cherries in this lip balm.
I've been comparing this one to a Maybelline Cherry Me Baby Lips and I have to say that I prefer this one.
Labello Fruity Shine has a lot more potent scent and it doesn't smell as artificial as the Baby Lips. Fruity Shine also has some shimmers in it, which I wasn't a fan of initially, but I noticed that the shimmers aren't really visible on the lips. It gives a  berry-reddish hint of colour to your lips and it's not as pigmented as the Baby Lips, which I prefer as I can use it even when I'm not wearing any makeup, but the slight flush of colour on my lips still manages to make me look more awake.
I also find it to be a bit more moisturising than the Baby Lips, but it's again, not something that would help when you have really dry or cracked lips. Supposedly, it also contains a SPF 10.
I've been keeping it in my handbag and using it instead of my lipstick whenever I'm to lazy to touch it up (which, to be honest, happens all the time).
It retails for around 1, 88 € and you get 4, 8g /5, 5ml.

Last but not least we have my personal favourite, the Repair & Beauty.
I've already mention it in my October Sparkles since this was the only lip balm I took away with me to London and I've fallen head over heels in love with.
As you can see it has two layers, the first pinky one gives your lips a light wash of colour, and the middle one is a minty balm that feels very cooling and moisturising on the lips.
This lip balm has a lovely floral scent, although you can smell and feel the mint in it once you actually apply it to your lips. I absolutely love this, it feels so refreshing and a bit tingly. This one is without a doubt the most moisturising and nourishing out of the three, and it actually helped to heal my cracked and dry lips.
You again get 4,8g / 5,5ml of product and it retails for around 3,31€.

Swatches from top to bottom: Coconut Lip Butter, Cherry Fruity Shine, Repair & Beauty.

I actually like all three lip balms, it just depends on your preference and what you're looking for in a certain lip balm. I would say that if you're looking for something nourishing and moisturising, go for the Repair & Beauty, if you're looking for something that would add a wash of colour to your lips and make you look more awake, go for the Cherry Fruity Shine, and if you're looking for a lip balm to have within a hand's reach and something that smells heavenly, go for the Coconut Lip Butter.

What's your favourite Labello product?

Še enkrat hvala znamki Labello in Nivea za poslane izdelke in prisrčen paket.

*The products were sent to me to review. I didn't buy them with my money. But that didn't and won't ever affect my opinion about the products in any way. The review is based on my personal experience with the products.*

  3. Top so. :3 super paketek so poslali. Repair je odlična in kokos tudi. Noo, sedaj imam kar dva hihi. :D

    1. Jaz tudi mislim, da bom kupila še enega ko porabim tega, ker se ne morem naveličat vonja :D

  4. Jooj, res so vas lepo razvajali!

    3. Hvala za odgovor, bom definitivno prebrala oceno :)

  5. Great reviews! I've been checking the local drugstores here almost every week, but still no Coconut lip butter :( I can't wait to get it, it seems amazing!

    1. I'm sure it'll get there eventually, but if you really want it, you can e-mail me and I'll gladly sent it to you :) xx
