Empties 10

Friday, November 14, 2014

Hello ladies,
it's time to go through my trash again and see what I think about the empty products.

I'm currently on a mission to use up my stash of body products; shower gels, body lotions, deodorants, hand creams, etc.
I don't mind having way too many makeup items, but the fact that I've been hoarding shower gels and body lotions like there's no tomorrow is just ridiculous. I must say it's going quite well & I've used up quite a few things already, but I tend to throw away those from limited editions, since there's no point  to talk about them.

1. Afrodita 100% Spa Sugar Scrub: I absolutely HATED this product which was a big surprise for me since I tend to love everything from Afrodita and I've only heard good reviews about it. I did smell lovely and did a good job at exfoliating, but I couldn't stand the oily residue left on my skin. Yes, it's moisturising, but to me it's like rubbing your body with butter. Whenever I used this, I had to use a shower gel to rinse the residue off. It's also not the cheapest and it lasted me only for 5 uses.
Would I repurchase? Not in a million years.

2. Yves Rocher Jardins du Monde Macadamia Nuts Velvety Shower Cream: I think that this is one of Yves Rocher best sellers and I can see why. It smells amazing, the smells lingers on your skin, it's very creamy and leaves your skin feeling nourished and moisturised. The only problem I have with these shower gels is that they tend to run out really quickly.
Would I repurchase? I actually have one more in my stash, but I would still repurchase it, yes.

3.  Yves Rocher Jardins du Monde Pomegranate Energizing Shower Gel: I regret not using this one in the Summer since it's a very refreshing shower gel. It again smells lovely, but it's not very moisturising, so if you're someone with very dry skin you probably wouldn't like it.
Would I repurchase? Maybe.

4. Aussie Luscious Long Shampoo: This stuff smells ridiculously good, like bubble gum. It's very moisturising, to the point that it was actually too moisturising for my hair after awhile, so I had to use it every now and again. But it does make your hair extremely soft.
Would I repurchase? Can't decide.

5. Avon Far Away Perfumed body spray: I really like this scent, I already used up two perfume versions of this. I can't say much about it, it's just a body spray that lasts a decent amount of time. I normally use it instead of a perfume when I'm just chilling at home the whole day.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

6. Rexona Maxium Protection anti-transpirant: This is the bomb. com.
It seriously keeps the sweat and unpleasant scents away no matter what. I had the Confidence version which is quite strongly scented, so I would avoid it in the future because it can interfere with your some perfumes.
Would I repurchase? Yes, but in a different scent.

7. Garnier Mineral 72h Intensive maxium protection anti-perspirant: I don't know why, but I had three half empty deodorants on my shelf and this was one of them. It's all right, but it can't compare to the Rexona one. It did leave white marks on the clothing if I didn't use it in the evening after showering.
Would I repurchase? No.

8. Yves Rocher Monoi de Tahiti dry body oil: The packaging is plastic and all the stickers came off, (if you're interested you can see it here), but this has become my must-have product for the Summer. It makes your tanned skin look gorgeous, smells great and sinks into your skin really quickly.
Would I repurchase? Definitely.

9. Yves Rocher Hand Beauty Care 2 in 1 beautifying hand & nail cream: This was a freebie with a purchase, I think. It had a very weird consistency, where it almost turned into a water-like formula once you robbed in onto your hands. I wasn't head over heels about it, but I didn't hated it either.
Would I repurchase? No.

10. Alverde Hornhaut-reduziercreme: This was a thick foot cream that again turned into a water-like consistency once you rubbed it in. It did a great job at moisturising, but I did use it up really, you only get 50 ml of product in the tube.
Would I repurchase? Probably not.

11. Avon Planet Spa Dead Sea Minerals hand cream: This is my all time favourite hand cream and as you can see, I really made sure I used every last bit of it. I don't know how, but to me this is a miracle worker, it always manages to heal any scratches, irritations or anything like that on my hands. So I was saving it for those times, but I decided that it was time to use it up since it really doesn't make sense to be emotionally attached to a hand cream.
Would I repurchase? Absolutely!

12. Essence Nail Art ultra nail polish remover: I already mentioned that this is my favourite nail polish remover for glitter or any stubborn nail polish shades. I always have a bottle of this in my stash and I'll keep repurchasing it.
Would I repurchase? Already did.

13. Ombia Cosmetics Nagellackentferner: This is a nail polish remover from Hofer, which pleasantly surprised me. It did a great job at removing nail polishes and I quite like the smell of it.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

14. Essence Stay all day concealer: This didn't cut it for me, or better yet for my under eye circles. It  just doesn't have enough coverage, but I did like the fact that it didn't crease even if I haven't set it with a powder.
Would I repurchase? No.

15. Catrice Volume plus length: I got this free with a Cosmopolitan a few months ago. It's an average, every day mascara. It didn't give me some major volume or length, but it did separate my lashes. It dried up quite fast and it started flaking when it got drier.
Would I repurchase? No.

16. Yves Rocher Bio Nourishing Lip Balm: It felt very nourishing on my lips, wasn't sticky and left a glossy finish. It was ok.
Would I repurchase? Maybe.

17. Himalaya Herbals Intensive Moisturizing Cocoa Butter Lip balm: I bought this lip balm on an offer 2 for 1 and I actually really like it. It's very thick and waxy, but it does a great job at moisturising your lips and keeping them from cracking. It also smells lovely, but I did use it up fairly quickly.
Would I repurchase? I still have one left, but after that, I would.

18. EOS Summer Fruit: This isn't the most moisturising lip balm but it's enough for day to day use. I loved using it and I loved the scent of it. You can finally buy it online here in Slovenia, but I do think it's overpriced.
Would I repurchase? Yes, but in a different scent.

19. Artdeco Eye brow pencil in 6: So far, my favourite eyebrow pencil. It's a great match for my brows, an ashy, grayish brown, really pigmented, not too hard, long lasting and easy to apply.
Would I repurchase? I can't imagine being without it.

Not onto the things that aren't empty but need to be thrown away.

20. Essence I ♥ Extreme crazy volume mascara: A lot of Slovenian bloggers love this, but I just couldn't make it work for me. At first it was way, way, way too wet for me, and all it did was clump my lashes together. After some time, it got a bit drier, but the wand still grabbed so much excess product that I had to always wipe it off. It did give me some length and volume, but nothing too extraordinary and my lashes were still too spidery and clumpy for my liking. It also smudges on me like nobody business.
Would I repurchase? Most definitely not.

21. Avon Shine Attract lipsticks in P202, P401, P101: I really like these lipsticks, they're like a mixture of a lipstick and lip balm so they're very moisturising, easy to wear and great for carrying around. But unfortunately they started smelling very weird and as you might be able to tell, the gel around them started to look a bit funky, so it's time to say our goodbyes.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

22. Essence TE Blossoms etc nail polish in Forget me not:  This is all dried up and gloopy, but it was a lovely lavender-blueish shade.
Would I repurchase? It was limited edition, but if not, maybe.

23. Essence Colour& Go quick drying nail polish in Black is back: Another dried up nail polish, it's just a standard black that I use for nail art or under glittery nail polish.
Would I repurchase? I already did, in the new version.

24. Yves Rocher Hydra Vegetal 24h rich hydrating cream: I bought this at the beginning of the year when my skin was going through a random dry patches phase. It worked great then, but I stopped using it when my skin got back to its normal (which is combination/oily). I recently decided to use it up and started using it as my night moisturiser but it broke me out.
I don't really know why, because I haven't had any problems with it before, and it's a lovely, lightweight, gel-like cream. Maybe it's because it was open for quite a long time, so I'm throwing it away.
Would I repurchase? No.

25. Tedi makeup sponges: These two are horrible. They're hard as a rock, don't really get bigger once they're wet and they soak up way too much foundation & concealer. Luckily they were really cheap so I don't feel bad for throwing them away.
Would I repurchase? Nope.

Have you used up any great products recently?

Nobenega Yves Rocher tuš gela še nisem sprobala pa me mika :)

    1. Haha, zanimivo.

  5. First time here and I love your blog! You've made me really want to try those Yves Rocher body washes, they sound/look amazing. I just did an empties on my blog, these posts always interest me.

How did you get so much product out of your EOS, after it becomes flat they sort of cut up my lips!

The Macadamia one is amazing, would definitely recommended it.
I just used my fingers to get it out, and some of it also fell out when there was a tiny bit left :)

  6. Meni je tuš gele uspelo porabit (sem si dala prepoved kupovanja novih) in zadnjič sem zadnjega vrgla v smeti in isti dan potem kupila SAMO 1! :D Moram pa to isto storiti tudi s šamponi in losijoni za telo, way too much se jih je že nabralo na polici -.-
Ko porabim en Balein piling sem si mislila Afroditinega kupit, ker ga ostale punce hvalijo, ampak tudi meni ni najbolj všeč če ostane oljnat občutek po tuširanju :/ Moram še premisli :)

    1. Jaz imam tudi prepoved kupovanja trenutno, samo me je strah, da si bom potem samo novo zalogo naredila :D
Če ti ni všeč oljnat občutek potem res dvakrat premisli, ker ta res pusti zelo oljnat občutek.

  7. I normally adore Aussie shampoo but Luscious Long was disappointing. I have really long hair and this just made it greasy. I would always use Miracle Moist instead! :-)
