The glorious moment of hitting a pan on makeup

Monday, July 14, 2014

Hello ladies,
I apologize for not posting anything since Wednesday but I was extremely busy this weekend. On Friday I went to Ljubljana for an event about Kardashian Beauty & The New Black nail polishes, and Saturday & Sunday were spent at my Grandma's.
But I'm back with another post today.

When a saw Sara's (Passing fancy) post about the products she hit pan on awhile back, I instantly remembered that this has been on my ''To write'' list for a really long time.
I don't know why, but hitting the pan on makeup products excites me a little bit too much. There's just something so fulfilling about seeing that tiny dent at the bottom of makeup items.

1. Essence All about matt!  fixing compact powder: Since I love their loose powder so much I decided to pick up this one as well. I had it in Ljubljana and it was my day-to-day setting powder. I talked about it here. I do think the loose version is better, since this one can enhance any dry patches you might have.

2. Catrice Camouflage cream: This was also mentioned in the same post as the Essence powder, and in there I talked about how much I loved it, but that love faded a bit now. I still like it, but I found some better concealers that aren't as drying under my eyes. I only use it for occasional blemishes now.

3. L'oreal Roll' on true match foundation: This was my staple a few years ago and I had quite a few backups as there was some fuss about this being discontinued. Now I find this to have too heavy coverage for my liking, and I also don't like the look of it on my skin, as it doesn't really look very natural. Will probably toss it away after I'm done writing this.

4. Avon True colour eyeshadow quad in Mocha latte: This is one of my oldest eyeshadow quads and I still use it quite often. The packaging is very compact, so it's great for carrying around and it also has all of the shades that I would need on a daily basis. The right two shades are matte and the left ones are shimmery. They're all nicely pigmented and easy to blend. I'm actually really surprised I only hit pan on the top left one because this is also one of my most used palettes in general.

5. Essence matt effect eyeshadows in Blockbuster: Again, something I already repurchased. I used to use this every day as my all over the lid shade since it's the perfect shade to cancel any discolourations on your eyes, and as my brow bone highlight whenever I didn't want a shimmery highlight. I should probably start using it again.

6. E. L. F. Custom eyes in Moondust & Pink Ice: These are only 1,98€ and are seriously amazing. Both shades are stunning as is the formula itself. Definitely worth a buy.

7. E. L. F. Eyebrow kit in Ash: Another great & affordable product. I actually really like the wax as well, but as you can see, I mainly use the powder. This, combined with the Artdeco eyebrow pencil in nr. 6, makes the perfect shade for my brows and helps them look way better than they really are.

8. Labello Vanilla & Macadamia lip butter: This was actually featured in my Disappointing buys of 2013 but I decided to use it up anyway and the funniest thing happened; it actually got really good. When I used up the first layer, it started to become really nourishing and moisturising. I quite like it now.

9. Essence Silky touch  blush in Adorable & E. L. F. Studio blush in Tickled pink: It's quite hard to actually hit pan on blushes, when you have too many of them (as I do). These two blushes are actually one of my cheapest & all time favourite blushes. They look quite similar, although the E. L. F. one is a bit darker, more shimmery and a little bit creamier. It's also more peachy than the Essence one.
Both are amazing though.

Have you hit pan on any makeup products recently?

    1. Hvala. A res? Na meni se pa kar hitro pozna.
All about matte ti je pa verjetno preveč izsušujoč, ne? Meni je loose verzija veliko boljša kot tale.

  5. Essence All about matt je pa meni zelo vredu. Je pa res, da imam kar mastno kožo in se mi potem ne izsuši nekaj, dejansko mi kar pomaga da se mi čelo ne sveti kot novoletna jelka hehe

    1. I couldn't agree more, I can't wait for the day that I hit pan on a blusher I had for ages and it's one of my most used blushes but still going strong. It seems like it's never-ending :D

  11. Tudi jaz imam v planu tale post. Drugače pa jaz ravno obratno reagiram, ko 'hittam pan'. Grem namreč v panic mode, haha. Sploh če se izdelka pri nas ne da dobiti. :D
