Hello ladies, I'm back with another Sunday's tag today.
I'm not not going to lie, when I saw that Mateja tagged me to do this tag (which was initially created by Rebecca from Autumn Leaves), I kinda freaked out a bit. The phrase ''You can only pick one'' is something from my worst nightmare since I'm as indecisive as it gets.
But I think I managed to narrow it down quite good, if I say so myself.
Low End/Drugstore Brand:
Now this was kind of a no-brainer for me. Although I probably tried the most products from Essence, my favourite drugstore brand is actually L'oreal.
I absolutely love their True Match foundation, Lumi Magique highlighting pen, Caresse lipsticks and Infallible eyeshadows. I also liked every mascara that I've tried from them & their nail polishes are also really good.
High End Brand:
Now this one is way more challenging as I haven't tried a lot of products from a specific high end brand, because I tend to buy different makeup items from different high end brands.
But I decided to go with Urban Decay as I love their eyeshadow palettes & primer potion, and because I've heard a lot of great things about their other products as well (e.g. Naked foundation, blush/bronzer palette, eyeliners, lipsticks & glosses). I have quite a few of these things on my WL, I just haven't gotten around of actually purchasing them yet.
Currently, I'm all about the L'oreal Skin Perfection Magic Touch Instant Blur. It's by far the best primer that I've tried so far.
If you would ask me this a few months ago, I would have to skip this question as I wasn't really a fan of highlighters.
This has definitely changed now and I actually went & swatched all highlighter that I own, and finally decided that the one that I like the most is the Shimmer Powder in Rose it up from Essence LE Bloom me up collection.
It's really finely milled, doesn't have any chunky glitters in it, and is the perfect pinky toned shade for my skin tone that also looks really natural on the cheeks.
This one was also really easy, as I'm still head over heels in love with the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream. I feel like I'm constantly talking about it and I'm using it non-stop. I'm actually thinking of getting a darker shade, as this one (Ivory) is getting too light for me.
I'm still one the hunt for the one, but the Maybelline FIT me comes very close to perfection. It's great for covering dark circles & blemishes as well. Full review and comparison with another Maybelline concealer will probably be up on Wednesday.
I'll have to cheat with this one and go with a sculpting powder instead. The Illamasqua Heliopolis from their Sculpting powder duo is the best for defining cheekbones and giving your face a bit more structure (psst, the highlight that comes with it is also amazing).
Now this is where things started to get a bit tricky and I don't know if I could pick just one blush in real life, but for the sake of this tag, I'm going to go with MAC Stay Pretty as it goes extremely well with everything & it's also very pigmented and long-lasting. I always find myself reaching for this one if I don't know which blusher to choose for the day.
I do really like my Essence All about matt fixing loose powder but it's not very practical for carrying around, so Rimmel Stay matte is the winner here. Cheap, doesn't make you look cakey, keeps the shine away without clinging to any dry patches. What more could you want? (except the fact that you have to order it online, which I need to do asap)
I've only try one setting spray from Alverde and it wasn't anything special, so I'm skipping this question.
Without a doubt Artdeco eyebrow pencil in nr. 6. The perfect shade for my brows that helps to elongate them & make them look more defined. My brows are naturally quite light and short, so filling them in makes quite a difference in my opinion.
I had no idea what to do with this category, but I decided to go with my old & trusty Naked palette from Urban Decay. Although the packaging with the original Naked palette is way less practical than with other two, I feel like this one has the best selection of shades for every day.
I don't use eyeliner on a regular basis so I don't really have a favourite. Does it count if I say Max Factor Kohl pencil in Natural glaze that I use for my waterline?
We all probably know my answer to this; of course it's Maybelline the Rocket. It gives my lashes length & volume without clumping them together, and it also holds the curl without smudging throughout the day.
This question was definitely the hardest and I was probably staring at my lipstick collection for more than 10 minutes, but in the end the L'oreal Caresse in Mauve Cherie won. As I've said with the blusher of my choice, this too is a shade that goes with everything. It's also very creamy and feels moisturising on the lips. It's pretty long-lasting on me as well.
I would most definitely skip this question if I hadn't find my perfect nude. I'm sure pretty much everyone knows how much I'm obsessed with Essie Spin the bottle and I wear it constantly.
A nail file. I don't go anywhere without a nail fail. Is a nail file even a beauty tool?
If not, I'm sticking with MAC 217. You need this brush in your life.
I tag everyone who's reading this and hasn't done this tag already. If you decide to do it (or if you already did) link it below so I can read your answers.
