First Impression: L'oreal Skin Perfection Magic Touch Instant Blur

Wednesday, July 16, 2014

Hello ladies,
today I'm back with another first impression and it's about the L'oreal Skin Perfection Magic Touch Instant Blur, which is marketed as an instant blurring cream that improves visible skin quality.
Since I still haven't found a primer that I would be completely in love with, I decided to get this when FeelUnique was having one of those #Uniquetreats awhile ago.

Let's see what they claim; The L'oreal laboratories have developed a 3D skin quality index. 3 dimensions which help to measure perfect skin quality; tone, texture, pores. The advanced formula, enriched with optical blur polymers, helps smooth and improve the appearance of skin quality, as if perfected. Picture-perfect skin from every angle.
Optically blurs the appearance of shine, pores and irregularities for a soft-focus finish. The velvety, tinted cream works with your complexion to enhance your natural sin tone.

My opinion: The product comes in one of those squeezy tubes and I absolutely love the small & compact, bright pink packaging. The thing that I don't like about it, is the fact that you only get 15ml for a price of 14,37€ (FeelUnique), which is in my opinion, quite pricey.
The consistency is very thick, it's a lot thicker than the Garnier 5sec Perfect blur and less oily, but other than that, they're quite similar. This too is very creamy and has a slight pinky tone to it, but has more of a velvety matte finish.
Since it is so thick, I only need a small amount to cover the targeted areas where my pores are the largest (my nose & the area around it, chin, and the middle of my forehead). I make sure that I dab it into the pores really well, and even though it absorbs into the skin in no time, I like to wait a few minutes before applying the rest of my makeup.
I did notice that it works the same with or without a moisturiser underneath, which is a definite plus, and it  also doesn't feel heavy on my skin as most of other primers do.

Hopefully, you'll be able to tell from the photos above, that this doesn't only blur out my pores and any small imperfections, but it also helps to even out my skin tone. On top of that, it keeps the shine away for longer, and prolongs the wear of any foundation (I first tried it with L'oreal True match, but since then I've also been wearing it with Bourjois CC cream & Garnier BB cream).
My skin feels extremely soft and smooth after applying this, and the rest of the makeup glides on like a dream. After you apply your foundation of choice, your pores truly look invisible (for the record, I'm only wearing this Mahic touch instant blur on the photos above).

I can't tell you if this will actually improve your skin quality, but I can tell you that so far I've been absolutely loving it. I finally found a primer that makes my pores temporarily disappear, and that also helps with keeping my skin matte.
The only downside for me, is the price. I feel like it could be a little bit cheaper for the amount of the product you actually get.
I'll be trying the Max Factor All day primer (that Mateja has been raving about recently) before deciding if this will become my HG primer, but so far, this has been the best that I've tried.

Have you tried this Magic touch instant blur? What's your opinion about it?
