I'm really sorry, but I just don't like you (Disappointing Products #3)

Saturday, May 24, 2014

Hello ladies,
today I don't have a very positive post for you, since I'm going to talk about the products that I currently own and I'm not particularly fond of .
I think it's necessary to do post like these every once in awhile to let others know what didn't really work for you and why.

I already did a review on quite a few of these products that I'm going to mention here, so all of them will be linked as well. I'm sure that there are a few other things that I didn't really like, but I already threw them away or featured them in one of my Empties posts.
One of those products is the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. I forgot to bring it back home from Ljubljana but I agree with bloggers that said that it's very similar to the L'oreal one and for me, this means that it irritates my eyes, makes my eye area feel dry and is also not great at removing makeup. The only thing that I like about it, is the bottle.

I also did posts like this last year and if you're interested in seeing those as well, you can click here.

Now onto the products that I do actually have at home.
I'll start with the L'oreal Paris Skin Perfection Advanced Correcting Serum.
It actually kills me that I have to feature this product here as I was raving about it in my review. As I mentioned there I did see a change in the overall look of my skin and after awhile I stopped using it, because I wanted to use up what was left of Balea Aqua serum as I was sure I'll continue to use this one for a really long time. Then I used up the Balea one and was back on this and it broke me out like nobody's business. I was completely shocked as I didn't experienced that the first time around and I'm positive that this was the reason for my blemishes since this was the only product that I changed in my skincare. I haven't tried it since then because I'm terrified that it'll give me those nasty and painful blemishes again.

I already talked about the next two product as well, but I didn't like these two from the very start. They're the Ingrid Cosmetics Prelude Primer Base that doesn't do anything for me, except makes the foundation apply a little bit smoother, and the Alverde Cleansing powder / Reinigungs-puder that was luckily a part of their Vintage Rose limited collection, so it's not available any more. I tried using this a few times after my first impression and every time I get utterly annoyed with it, because it gets everywhere and creates a huge mess without even removing half of your makeup. Definitely throwing it away after I'm done writing this.

The last of this bunch is the Essence Studio nails Better than gel nails High gloss top sealer. I absolutely loved their Fast dry version but they sadly discontinued it. I bought this one, hoping it's going to be very similar, but unfortunately I don't think it is. I doesn't dry up the nail polish fast, but this is something I would be prepared to tolerate. The problem I have with this, is that it makes all of my nail polishes peel off after a day or two. It doesn't matter which nail polish I'm wearing, of which base coat, or how thin layers I apply... It always happens.

This Mixa Soothing Toner is not all that bad, but I'm including it since it doesn't do anything for my skin. It says that it's meant for reactive and sensitive skin, that it cleanses, freshens and soothes. And I can agree with this; it's very gentle and it does feel refreshing on the skin. But that's about it. It's like applying water on your face and I like to see some results, if I'm actually using a toner. The pump is also beyond annoying; sometimes you can get the right amount on the cotton pad and other times it will splash every where. This is again something I'm trying to use up, but really dreading it.

I have such a love-hate relationship with this L'oreal Paris Elnett Satin Heat Protect Styling Spray Volume. It give me crazy and I mean lion-hair-crazy volume, but it also gives me crazy dandruff. I'm still trying to get rid of all the dandruff and I only used it a few times. But then again, I absolutely love how it makes my hair look. I'm also not sure if it does anything regarding the heat protect, but it does smell amazing.
I'm very torn about it.

Yes, I not only have one or two, but three mascaras that I didn't get along with. First is the much loved and talked about Essence I ♥ Extreme Crazy volume mascara. This does give me so much volume and even some length and I love the plastic wand. But it also grabs so much excess product that I have to wipe it off every time I use it, and it also flakes and smudges on my lower lashes after a few hours. I'm going to wait for it to dry up a little bit and try it again, or just use a different mascara on my lower lashes, because I really like how it makes my upper lashes look.

The next mascara, the Yves Rocher Sexy Pulp ultra-volume mascara, also smudges on me like crazy, but it also doesn't do anything other than that. It's a good mascara if you're searching for something that will make your lashes blacker and not stick them together, but for me, that's all it does. Apart of giving me some panda eyes.

I wasn't really sure if I should include the Makeup Revolution Amazing curl mascara since the only thing I like about it, is the packaging and I don't want to go on another rant about it. Just avoid it and you'll be fine.

Last product is technically also not available any more ever since Essence reformulated and redesigned these Stay with me longlasting lipglosses, which is definitely a good thing. I love the colour itself (Material girl 12), and the fact that it's not sticky, but I absolutely hate the applicator and the scent. I never wear it because of the strong, artificial scent that it has. I can smell it even when I'm wearing it for awhile and it actually makes me gag.

These were the products that I still own but really don't like. Please keep in mind that these products just didn't work for me and you might love them. I know that we're all different so our opinions will differ as well.

Let me know if you tried any of these products and what are your thoughts on them.

Sanja♥
