Review: Estée Lauder EyeShadow Duo in Raisins

Friday, March 14, 2014

Well hello lovelies, do you still remember me?
It feels so weird actually writing a post, I feel like I completely lost my blogging mojo and I wasn't even away for that long. Fingers crossed, I'll be back on my schedule from today on, or at least I'll try my best to be.

Today we're going to talk about  something extremely gorgeous; the Estée Lauder Pure Color EyeShadow Duo in Raisins (12).
Yeah, I know that everyone already owns this and that there are a ton of reviews on it, but I was late to hop on this bandwagon and I wanted to share my thoughts about it anyway.
I'll start with the only downside of this eyeshadow duo, it's price. In Slovenian drugstore, Müller, it retails for around 38€ which is a hell of a lot of money for just two shades, but I guarantee you, they are worth it.

Now let's dig into the glory of this duo.
Just how gorgeous is the packaging? If this doesn't catches your attention, I don't know what will. I'm completely in love with it.
You can't really tell but the packaging is actually mirrored and the engraved  Estée Lauder initials just add that something extra to it. To me,  this packaging screams luxury and it actually feel very luxurious as well. You can tell that it's very well made, it's very sturdy and compact. It also comes with protective plastic over the eyeshadows, so that they're even more protected. Because of that, I'm not scared to carry it around with me, as I am with the Naked palette for example.
You also get a two-ended brush and a mirror, which makes it even more practical.

The two shades are really meant for each other, they just create the perfect eye look, but also look amazing on its own. At first I was a little bit scared that they would look a little bit much for day time and that the darker shade would be a little bit too purple for my taste, but I was so wrong.
The lighter, champagne shade has this beautiful shine to it, but it doesn't have any glitters. The darker, purplish-brown shade on the other hand, has some tiny glitters that pop up once the sun hits your eyes and truly catch the light.
Both shades are extremely finely milled and are the softest eyeshadows that I own. They seriously feel like butter.
The pigmentation is also outstanding, they're as pigmented as the UD shadows, if not even a little bit more. Since they are so pigmented you truly need just a little dab on the brush, so this duo will last you a lifetime.

The thing that surprised me the most was how blendable they are. Without a single doubt, these two shades are the easiest to blend, it's just effortless.
On my oily eyelids, they last all day with any of my primers and they don't fade even a little bit during the day. I also haven't experienced any fallout.

Recently, this eyeshadow duo has been all that I've been wearing on my eyes. I don't know why, but these two shades really compliment my skin tone and make my eyes pop, at least I think so.
I know that the price tag is sky high for only two shades, but I definitely think that they are worth the money and I'm not going to lie, I have my eye on another duo already.

Have you tried any Estée Lauder eyeshadows? Share your thoughts.
