Sunday's chit-chat: How I keep organised?

Sunday, January 26, 2014

Hello ladies,
today I'm going to talk about something that's quite new for me - organisation.
I was never an organised person; I was always all over the place, I forgot about a lot of things and I always did everything the last minute, which I still do, but that's another story.
In the past year or so, I became quite fond of organisation. Now I actually can't stand if something is not in the right place and I want to go and re-arrange my room at least once a day. For instance my current makeup storage and organisation is driving me insane and I can't wait to be done with my exam to clean everything out, buy new storage and re-organise it.

Recently I found an organisation ''system'' that works great for me. I don't forget as much and I actually get a lot more things done on time or even before the deadline.
The two main stars of this show are my 2013-2014 Diary from Paperblanks and Cahier Gourmand notebook. These are the two things I can't live without, I use them on a daily basis and would probably be lost without them.
As you might be able to tell, I like my stationary to be cute and girly because then I want to actually use it and not just have it lying around my room.

This Diary goes with me everywhere. I really like it because it's a weekly planner so you're able to see all the things you have to do that week. Personally I'm not a fan of agendas that are daily planners because then I would forget about other things that I have to do that week.
This diary also has month planners and a few timetables. In the month planner I usually only write down deadlines for Uni assignments and exams, and I use timetables for my classes and TV shows.
I also use two different coloured markers; with yellow I mark all things Uni related and with pink I mark all other important dates, like birthdays and so on.
If there's something that has to been done on a specific day, or I need to remember for that day, it's going straight into this dairy. So for every upcoming week I know what has to be done and when.
I also write down any important news, or just random quotes or thoughts.

Next we have the Notebook. This usually stays at home and in here I plan things for every individual day.
I write down all the things that I need to do that day and I try to prioritize them and write them in that order. Every night before I go to bed I'll take a few minutes to think about the things that I need to get done the next day and I'll write them down. Or I'll even write them down during the day if something pops into my head.
I don't write down just the basic task, but even the tiniest chores. So for example, for today I have; study for your exam on Tuesday, gather all the study material for your exams on Thursday&Friday, write a blog post, wash your hair and paint your nails. When I complete a task, I'll go and check it off the list and move to the next one.
I don't know if it's because I have everything written down in one place, or if I just like crossing out the tasks from the list, but ever since I started doing this, I became so much more productive and less stressed.

Since January was very hectic at Uni and now it's the end of the first semester and time for exams, I also use this calender that I got from Maja's blog Telovaditi začnem vedno na isti dan - jutri. Every month she makes a new calender that is free to download and they're always really nice.
As you can see, I marked all the dates that I have to remember and the assignments for that day. When I'm done with the assignment, I again cross if off the calender.
I have this calender on my magnetic board, just above my desk so I can easily see it.

And now onto blogging organisation. For this, I also have two things; an Accessorize Union Jack notebook and a small, random Weekly planner.
I divided the Notebook into four categorizes; Future blog posts ideas, technical things (tips and tricks), reviews and  lists (for monthly favourites, hauls, disappointing products, etc).
So everything that is related to blogging, goes in here.
And the Weekly planner is for scheduling my posts. I'll write in advance for the upcoming week or sometimes even a few weeks, all the posts I want to write for Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. If I still had to take photos of certain products or something like that, I'll also write it down in this planner and in my ''daily notebook''.

Just this week, I also got these three notebooks. I found them at Tedi and fell in love with them. Since they're so cute, I wanted to share them with you.
I actually already started using the Paris one, I have it right beside my computer and I use it for writing down important or interesting things I randomly find during the day, and for writing down tasks that don't have a specific deadline, but I want to get them done in the near future.
I'll probably throw the London one in my handbag and carry around with to write down all the random things that come to my mind during the day and don't have a place in my Diary.
But I don't know what to use the bigger notebook on the left for. It's very interesting since it has different coloured and styled pages in it (check the gif below).
If you have any ideas for what I could use it, let me know.

I hope you'll find this interesting and maybe even helpful. Also, if you have any other tips for organising or you did a similar post, share it with me.
