FOTD: Start the New Year with some sparkles

Tuesday, December 31, 2013

Hello ladies,
today'll be showing you a New Years Eve makeup, which is actually very similar to the one I wore on Christmas day. I'm actually staying home this year, and I'll probably fall asleep before midnight, because honestly, the only thing I like about New Years Eve are fireworks. But this makeup look would probably be my go-to look, if I wasn't staying at home.
I know I'm a little bit late with this, but hey, maybe there's someone who needs last minute makeup inspiration.
Also I would like to say that I'm sorry that the pictures aren't better, but I just recently got a new camera and I'm still in the process of figuring it out.

I decided that I want to make this look very sparkling, so I used the Yves Rocher 100% Natural origin loose pearls. This pigment is like pure gold in the tube, it's so sparkly and it looks very festive. Since you all know how much I love my neutrals shades, I of course had to stick with them. I darkened the outer corners a little bit and smoked out my bottom lash line. I also added the Yves Rocher pigment on top, just to make it even more festive.
To top everything off, I winged out the eyeliner a little bit, because I think that it looks classy and put together.

To stick with the sparkling theme, I used t M.A.C.'s Phloof! as my inner corner and brow bone highlighter. This eyeshadow is one of my all time favourite highlighting shades, it's just so gorgeous.
I also highlighted my cheekbones which I rarely do, but I think that for New Years you can go all out with your sparkles and glitters.
Since there's all that ''wear something red on New Years for good luck'' thing, I incorporated something red with a red lipstick. It's the Yves Rocher Grand Rouge in the shade Rouge Gourmand. This is without a doubt one of the pretties red shades that I own. It's very creamy and glossy, and it smells so good. I would describe the shade as a red shade mixed with  fuchsia, since it's definitely not as red as it looks on the picture below.

The products that I've used to create this look:

  • L'oreal Roll on True match foundation
  • Catrice Camouflage cream
  • L'oreal Lumi magique
  • Essence Stay matt fixing loose powder
  • E.L.F.  Eyelid primer (I forgot to include it in the photo)

  • Revlon Grow Luscious plumping mascara
  • Yves Rocher 100% Natural origin loose pearls in Nacres dorees

This song really made me laugh yesterday so I had to share it with you.
2013 was really a kick ass year.

And here's to 2014, I hope you have a very successful, healthy and happy year.
I'm sure it's going to be even more awesome than 2013.

I hope you like this FOTD and I hope you spend this day just the way you want it.
