Currently obsessing over: Shower edition

Friday, July 12, 2013

I decided to start a new series on my blog, called Currently obsessing over. Sometimes, I find myself loving a lot of specific products at the same time, for example a few lipsticks that I've been wearing non stop, ten different nail polishes, etc. And I think it doesn't really make sense to include so many products that do the same thing at my monthly favourites, so I'll include them in this series.
Lately, I've been absolutely loving taking showers since I've discovered so many great products that make my showers feel like a home spa, and I'll gladly share them with you.

I'll talk about two shower gels first. The first one, Balea Young Sweet Wonderland,  is actually my sister's discovery since she chose it for her school trip. She obviously didn't use it all, so she brought it back home and we already re-purchased it. I think, I'll be re-purchasing this for awhile now, because it smells A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. I want to buy the body lotion and the deodorant, but I think that it might be a little too overpowering or that someone could mistake me for something delicious and eat me.
The smell reminds me of chocolate pudding or of Čokolino; my Slovenian readers will know what that is, but basically, it's baby food. That was the first thing I loved about it, since I love me some Čokolino, even if that makes me a 22-year old baby.
But it doesn't just smells nice, oh no, it makes your skin so soft, it's crazy. It's also very inexpensive, but it may make you crave a little bit of chocolate or in my case Čokolino. I never really tried any Balea shower gels, but after this, I'll definitely be buying some more.

The second one is the Palmolive's Mediterranean moments with Argan oil and almond. Again, another one that smells amazing. I don't know why, but after I shower with this one, I feel like I'm on a holiday at the seaside. And if you're like me and you love the seaside and would love to have a house near the beach (if someone has one and feels like sharing, please contact me), this is always a big plus.
The Argan oil and almond really help with making your skin soft and moisturised. If I'm tired or moody, I just need to hop into the shower, pour this all over my body and I can pretend that I just came from the beach. Will definitely be hunting down the bigger version of this.

I also have one hair product. It's the Dove Nourishing Oil Care Express Treatment Conditioner. I'm always on the hunt for the perfect shampoo and conditioner and I heard some great things about this one. It really is very moisturising and it makes my hair silky soft. It' very thick, which I like and I love the smell of it. It doesn't smell as good as the Lush American cream, but it still smells better than a lot of other conditioners.
My sister also uses it and her hair gets very tangled and this work great for de-tangling them.
I just recently purchased the shampoo version of this and I'm curious to see how they work together.

And now onto the body peelings. Both of them are from Aldo Vandini, because I think you just can't go wrong with Aldo Vandini's peelings.
The Sauna one has aloe vera and milk protein in it, and I use it every time I feel like I need a really good scrub. It's quite harsh, so if you don't like that, this isn't for you. It actually says that it's recommended for intensive cleaning prior to the sauna. Well, no sauna for me, but I do love some fresh and clean skin.  Even though it's quite intense, it's not drying, and it won't make your skin feel dry or flaky, but I like to apply some body lotion anyway. It smells quite clean and fresh.

The second one is called Spirit of India. It's a spicy sugar scrub with ginger and tamarind. This one smells very fruity and sweet. Since it's sugar based, it still works great, but it's not harsh and so intensive. I use this one whenever I feel like my body needs a little bit of exfoliation. It's very moisturising and the smells stays on your skin, which I love.
I also prefer the packaging of this one, because I think it's more convenient and you can really get all the product out. I'm also sure that this one will last me longer, since I somehow always manage to get way more product out of the tube that I actually need.

The Sauna one (on the left) is also a lot more thicker and gel like, than the Spirit of India one (right).

So here are my current favourite shower products. Hope you enjoyed reading this post and have a great weekend.
