Review: Garnier Miracle skin perfector BB creams

Wednesday, June 19, 2013

Hey hey, every one. Today is such an amazing day, I passed the most difficult exam ever and I couldn't be happier.
Today, I'm going to do a comparison of the Garnier BB creams. The one for normal/dry skin and the one for oily/combination skin.
As you may know, I'm completely in love with the one for oily/combination skin and it's an essential in my every day make up routine and since I also own the other one, I though I would share my opinion.

They both come in a plastic tube, the one for combination/oily skin (left one) is in this sleek and tall packaging, which, in my opinion, is better for travelling or just carrying in your make up bag. You get 40 ml, while in the one for normal/dry skin you get 50ml.
I have both in the light/clair shade.

From now one, everything on the left side of the pictures is the BB cream for normal/dry skin and every right side of the picture is the BB cream for oily/combination skin.

The consistency of the BB cream for normal/dry skin is thicker and smells like usual creams, while the one for oily/combination skin is more liquidy and you can smell the alcohol.
As you can see below, the right one is quite liquidy (almost too liquidy) and you have to be careful, so that you don't make a mess and have BB cream all over your room.

I applied both creams with my fingers, at 10:30 am and I didn't add any setting powder and any concealer.
After 4 hours I set them both with translucent Stay matte powder and at 8:00 pm I removed them.

As you can see on the left, the one for normal/dry skin instantly looks more glowy than the one for oily/combination skin. It also sets into fine lines around my eyes (picture below), it doesn't cover the redness on my cheeks and it doesn't cover my dark under eye circles at all. Both BB creams did even out my skin tone and they hid my pores.
When I touched my skin, the one for normal/dry skin felt sticky, while the other one feels like your skin, just softer.
The one for oily/combination skin did cover my under eye circles a little bit, it covered the redness and it didn't set into my fine lines.
After some time, the one for normal/dry skin kept looking more and more oily, but once I set it with powder it looked good and it didn't feel sticky any more.
When set with powder, you could see one or two dry patches on my nose, on the side I had the BB cream for oily/combination skin, but you couldn't see them when the BB cream wasn't set with powder.

After 7 hours of wearing them, both sides looked oily on my T-zone (even though I added powder) and you could see the redness on my cheeks and my dark under eye circles.
At 8: 00 pm when I removed them, my T-zone was oily on both sides, while my cheeks were oily only on the side the BB cream for normal/dry skin was on. Both creams also wore off on my chin and around my lips and nose.

All in all, for every day use I prefer the BB cream for oily/combination skin as it gives a little more coverage and it lasts longer. But on days I have to go somewhere but don't really want to wear any make up, I grab the one for normal/dry skin, as it evens out my skin tone, but at the same time you really can't tell that I'm wearing any make up. I just need to set it with powder, add some concealer and I'm good to go.

Did you try any of the two Garnier BB creams? Which one do you prefer? Tell me in the comments below.
