First impression; Nivea BB cream

Thursday, April 18, 2013

I love watching first impression videos on youtube, especially the ones from It's Judy time and I was browsing through my Mom's makeup and I saw some products that I wanted to try.
So for today's first impression I have BB cream from Nivea. My Mom swears by it and has been using it for a really long time, even before they changed the packaging and I think that they've changed the formulation of it as well.

I tried the one in shade Light, which is the lightest shade they have. They also have only two shades available. I like the packaging, it's nice, compact and clean. You get 50ml, unfortunately I don't know the price, but it's not expensive, since you can get in the drugstore.

They say that the BB cream will even, cover, illuminate, moisturise and protect you skin. It has minerals, pro vitamin B5 & SPF 10. They also say that you'll instantly get a perfect looking skin.

The consistency is very thick,  and I find it to be extremely hard to apply and blend. The first thing I noticed was that it's too dark for me, I looked like a sunburned orange. I also had ''foundation'' lines because I didn't blend it very well.
I currently have a few breakouts and redness. The BB cream didn't cover the blemishes, but it did cover the redness. It also didn't do nothing with my dark under eye circles.
I tried to build it up around the blemishes, but it just end up looking cakey and more orange.

My skin was feeling very soft, so I think that it's a good moisturiser and my pores were less visible.
I applied a setting powder on half of my face, and I noticed that the other half got very oily, especially my forehead and nose, extremely quickly.
I can't really say much about the durability of the BB cream because I had it on for about two hours. Then I had to leave the house and I didn't want to go outside looking like that.

This BB cream was a big no-go for me, which was a little bit surprising, since it looks good on my Mom.
If you have dry skin and aren't pale, maybe give it a go, otherwise I wouldn't really recommended it to anyone.

Also I just wanted to let you know that a fellow Slovenina blogger did a review on this BB cream just yesterday, go check it out; Lux.

I hope that you enjoy reading first impressions, since I've got another one in store for tomorrow.

  1. Great idea for a blog post! This bb cream doesn't sound good though (maybe it's good for older skin types). I love the garnier bb cream myself

  3. Jaz imam samo BB kremo od Deborah, te pa nisem probala, ker se mi je zdela light pretemna in kot vidim po tvojem swatchu, je res.
